Top Speed 2018 ZL-1

I may have hit the top speed limiter on the car, in Mexico on Sunday. By myself for a blast on some back roads. 193. Crazy.

Impressive... I thought that I read somewhere that our car's top speed was 189.

So, this is cool.

Im curious, what happens if the federalis pull you over going that fast. Do they just not have speed limits or is there virtually zero traffic enforcement. And if you did get pulled over. How likely would it be for you to ever see your car again? lol

It’s hard to imagine anyone pulling you over at 193 mph. I know I’d never try that on a public road. All it would take is one misguided woodchuck or armadillo crossing the road and I’m singing with the heavenly choir.

I've had it in high 180 range before running out of room.

I like going that fast on bikes though.

I heard the Auto can run 198 but the 6 speed because of gearing only runs about 180

There is no limiter---its aero limited---so whenever you run out of gear/hp that's the limit. I think 198 was right for the auto.

If said person was actually in Mexico they may or may not know that answer, but let’s be real, most folks are not in Mexico as they very well would face those consequences.
Having traveled in Mexico a fair amount over the years, they’ve come a ways in speed enforcement and I would dare say that although one wouldn’t be happy being caught running those speeds in the USA, you’d probably fare better then if you were actually doing that speed and caught in Mexico.

Your car might be given to a drug lord and you’d have a bad man for a boyfriend for many years. You’d be senorita gringo.

It's not something I will try again. Conditions were just perfect at the time.

A guy from the German ZL1 Facebook group went 202mph on the german Autobahn with his A10. Antother one with a 1LE was only able to get 188mph out of his. Next year I will find out how fast mine will go on the Autobahn.

Interesting. I was going slightly uphill and at about 5400 ft altitude, though I had some race gas concentrate in the tank. So it seems there is more in this car than I was able to find.

The 202mph one had a ported throttle body, green filter, catback exhaust, and a tune.
