Is yours a 2019?
I pulled the fuse on my 2019 and instant CEL as well. Immediately sent me a text to my phone! Had to disconnect neg terminal, so while I was at it I just disconnected the electrical connectors to the valves at the muffler. Took all of 5 min, as I had to loosen one of the thin metal heat shields to get my fat hands in there to properly tie up the loose connector on the passenger side.

Did it 6 months ago and really love how it is now open ALL the time vs track mode.
Wasn't quite loud enough and started shopping for exhaust but didn't want spend tons of $$ (set aside for track days, not mods) and really didn't want to cut the factory exhaust so I pulled down the back seats, pulled the trunk floor cover out, and pulled out the foam thingee that holds the tow hook and tire pump.

Wow! Now I can hear pops, burbles, and it sounds properly loud enough inside for me to stop even thinking of spending $1500 on a muffler.

All for free and reversible in 10 min. I throw the seat up on longer trips with the wife (mostly for hwy road noise), and recently went to the track and just threw the trunk carpet cover in so I could load crap in the trunk.

It is so strange that some people get a CEL and others don't. I pulled my 2019 ZLE A10 from almost day 1 and no CEL.

It’s a 18, with aftermarket cat back. The light was out the next morning. I was going to disconnect battery if it wasn’t.

Fuse pulled a month ago. No cell no issue. Definitely sounds better imo.
Mine is a 2019 all stock.
