My view, if something happens and the helmet is to protect you, would you want your face exposed?

that's kind of what I was thinking too. I was about to buy the open face, the closed face was a couple more bucks. I have to protect my sweet face.. jk

Well looks are part of it LOL... But I know a doctor, he says if you really hit something, eye sockets, nasal passages, breathing, jaw, it just ends up being a mess, painful and quality of life stuff. I know we have airbags, but we are not really using these cars like the other 99.99 % of the people who buy them. Maybe I'm old, but better to be safe, than sorry... Glad you're going that way and hope you never have to test it... Have fun!

In a car without a cage, the helmet is mainly there to satisfy the insurer. If you’re not running a HANS with a helmet and you’re in stock belts, the helmet is a borderline liability if you have a bad wreck.

I wouldn’t ride a motorcycle with an open-face, but in a closed cockpit car, an open-face is my preference.

I bought my helmet, gloves, shoes, socks and HANS from here: https://www.wdlracing.com. These guys were very knowledgeable. Contact them and ask a few questions.

I use a Shoei RF 1200. Have been using these for years. Breath-ability is no issue for me.

This finish matches my personality the best.
