C5 z06 or 2013 Ss please help my bothers!
Ok I had a 2010 Camaro Ss rs 2ss a couple years ago and ended up selling it. So I'm back in the market and I'm stuck and need some of my fellow forum boys input. So I can get a 13 Ss m6 for a good deal or a 03 c5 z06 for a good deal as well. The Camaro is a bit more but not that much so let's say it's a wash. Camaro is under warranty also till 2018. Both have same miles. I have a baby on the way and I am leaning toward the Camaro. The z06 has had a special place in my heart and its a pure joy to drive, feels like a pure race car. But only time I would be able to drive the z is alone. Either car is just a toy and will be used as such. Which one would u guys buy and why. I guess I'm wondering if the newer fe4 suspension my link ect on the 13ss with a few mods will fill my hp needs opposed to the z06. Thanks!!!,

A Camaro fits 3 easier than a Vette
Buy the sensible shoes.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Wouldn't be very often I could drive the z06.

Can't go wrong with either honestly.. was in a similar position recently and unless the C5 had all the perfect options it was a Camaro for me maybe cause it was my first and what I really wanted in the end.. I enjoy time with my family and want to have others enjoy it with me. Go with your gut... you only live once and can always make another change down the road.

Thought very hard about the C5Z, but the SS IMO is the better overall car.
The C5Z has more outright speed, but the creature comforts are very limited. I'd still like to own a C5Z one day, but I was more drawn to the 5th gen Camaros. |

Between a C5 and a Camaro then Camaro every time... C6 is another story.

I was in the same situation as you. I had a '03 C5Z, sold it when I went overseas and came back with kids. I spent 3 years deciding what performance car to get and I ended up with a 1LE.
With a family, think of the 2 seat Vette more in line with a motorcycle than a car. You can commute and do track days, but you'll pretty much be solo. My 1LE gives up no handling and a little speed to the c5Z but gains A LOT in being able to take the family everywhere (even road trips). If you are really worried about nearly identical performance (I was, especially with handling) then get a 1LE. If you're not as picky, a SS will be more than enough. 2 years of having the Camaro and family together, I'm very glad I chose the Camaro over C5Z. |

The back seat is the sole decider for me. And honestly I considered a C5Z (as well as a C6Z) and obviously chose the Camaro and I must say I still kind of wish I chose the Vette. The back seat comes in handy for me but it's not really something I NEED. Rarely have I ever had anyone sit back there. The C5Z is a badass car and I love the body design. I probably would have gotten one but couldn't find any in my area that were to my liking, but I did find my 1LE.

Between a C5 Z06 and a 13 SS Camaro, I'd have to say the Camaro. I love Corvettes and I really like Z06's, but I did not care as much for the C5 coupe vs. the "fastback" and the C5Z only had 405hp, in its later years. It is tight, even more limited if you wanted to haul any extra items in it, and as stated above, very limiting on the creature comforts. You said the SS even had a MyLink in it which, from what I have seen, is very nice. (I have a '10 so no factory installed MyLink for me! ) If I was in your shoes I'd go Camaro and start modifying! If we were talking C6 Z06, I might have to change my answer.

Both nice cars and I was in the same boat, I never used the Vette unless I was alone, the Camaro is great to drive with the family!!
