Most of these I had direct experience with the ZL1 addons fronts, these would be great but they need to extend downward another 2" or there about's. A little bit larger in a couple of dimensions and those would pretty well do what you need them to. Some is better than none but it's just not enough.

I'm going to stick with the GM splash guards...am getting a quote for XPel on the lower half of the car behind the front tires..the roads are pretty good in Central Texas so I believe it should suffice...I appreciate the advice

That's what i am getting for my 2020 (from ACS).
Enjoy your car! Cheers!

Ps Agree that zl1addons flaps make no difference imo. Had them on my 17.
I got side skirts after the PPF got chewed up pretty quickly, I replaced the PPF and got the ACS skirts and guards, it helps a lot but PPF is definitely still required. I'm also adding a 2nd layer of satin-finish PPF in front of the rear wheels to add protection and make the damage to the PPF less noticeable. I could even see using spray-on truck bed liner in this area.

The 1LEs should come with the same skirts the ZL1 has.

At that point, they just look like rally/truck mud flaps. Yeah you get the rock chip protection, but you also ruin the aesthetics of the car(IMO) and so... what's the point?

They look okay on some cars, something like an WRX or even a Focus RS. On a Camaro? Not so much...

Honestly, I have found it to be okay to have some protection from something like the GM or ACS and to just live with a few chips and touch up as required. Touch ups are not something people can spot from far, but giant mud flaps can be spotted very easily.

On a standard SS, you should be fine. On my SS 1LE(with the extra thicc and sticky tires), the GM ones do an okay job at protecting the paint but they probably aren't perfect in terms of functions. I also tend to be more careful when I see rocks on the road.

That's what I thought.

Now there are so many you could never count them.

Seriously.

I'd have to fill my palm with DrColorchip and smear it on like finger paint.

Why are rock chips associated with the 1LE? Is that due to tire width or are the stock tires super sticky?

Yes. The fronts throw rocks at the front of the rear fenders sand blasting them. The sticky tires are the problem. I used the ZL1 addons front splash guards. They are ugly and dont stay on very well. Swap the stock tires out for a normal all season, at least for the fronts. Thats where the problem lies.

it's also due to the fact that the 1le has the same tire sizes as the zl1 but the fenders dont flare out the same. a standard SS already has a problem, but when you stare at the front of a 1le the front tires very clearly poke out of the fenders. looks cool ... eats quarter panels without something to help
