Rotors need turning

I have 35,000 miles on my 2017 M6 ZL1. I've never tracked the car and don't drive it crazily. I enjoy spirited driving but really utilize the M6 for slowing down whenever possible. With all that said, my rotors need turning as the steering wheel shakes when applying the brakes.

This is very surprising to me based on these facts. Is this common?

More likely pad deposits than warping

Can I bed my brakes at this point or is it too late?

Do three 80 to 10 mph hard braking runs (get into ABS) and it should help if not totally fix it.

If it is just pad deposits, you could also sand the rotors with 120 grit to get off the build up.

Please don't have the rotors turned. I was in the business for years and I saw more people regret having the rotors turned. Buy a new set with the correct pads and get another 35000 miles out of the new ones. There is also a discard thickness that is recommended for replacement. Once you turn them they will warp much quicker as you've thinned the rotor to a point that they create more heat which in turn causes the warping of the rotor.

I was told by my dealership that these rotors aren’t to be turned. If you end up needing new rotors, I have a brand new, never used front set I can sell you cheaper than you can buy anywhere else. PM me if interested.

Sounds similar to my car. Guess I will have to get more aggressive with my braking in my day to day driving.
Love this forum.

I finally tried this late last night and can attest that the problem has greatly improved. In addition and to my surprise, my squeaky brakes have completely gone away.

The days of having rotors turned all well behind us. Today, they have little more than the exact minimum amount of material to last for a pre-decided amount of time/use. Turning them will "thin them out" to a point where one hard brake situation from higher speed will warp them and you're done (this was already mentioned).

35k out of set of front brakes would be about what I would personally expect / hope for, and I'd be putting on new OEM parts.
