We got on the dyno today on my 2022 Lt1, dyno sheet added

Size: 79.9 KBWell I finally got to the dyno today. I'll post the sheet later but it made 431/442 on E57. I don't have my AEM cable yet to hook to my HP Tuners dongle so we were running off the tail pipe and I was relaying that to Phil who's helping me tune. I think once we can get some more E content to about E65 we might make a few more Rwhp and getting accurate AFR to get the tune a little closer. We weren't able to put as much timing in that we'd like but with on E57 we just couldn't get there.

Pretty good for legal bolt ons considering stock is around 385 rwhp or so? Stock exhaust still?

Im interested in seeing as much data as you want to provide on the pulls if you feel like sharing. Logs of the run would be interesting. Would be cool to compare logs and dyno sheet side by side.

Phil had a real good tune in it before I even went to the dyno. The first pull was 431 in 7th gear but the dyno basically shut down at 5600 rpm since we were way over 185 mph. So, immediately did another pull in 6th and 429 rwhp was what we saw on that pull. Did some other pulls messing with the PE, leaning it out some, adding fuel on others. Last pull was 431/442 and we just stopped there as it was evident we just couldn't make any more power with this combo. Now that said my cars have never made a lot of power on this dyno so this is our tool for tuning and we hope as my others have proved themselves at the track as the Camaro and Corvette did. The C7 made under 460 rwhp but ran 10.91@128 mph so numbers don't tell the whole tuning story. We'll see if that works out for this car also. We were having COT, cat over temp issues and going rich at about 5600. We turned that off and it was a little better but really made no addition hp but I'll used that tune at the track and keep that turned on for the street.

now its time to get it on the track. on stock wheels, id say it's a solid 120 car at this point.

I'll have drag radials when I go to the track. Hopefully picking them up this weekend. I'm guessing in good air it will run 11.50s@120. Doubt any quicker then that, track will be prepped since its race day so traction will be good.

Dam you were right on the money. I thought it would run 118 or so but 120 and 121 is where we ended up.

Amazing
Excited about where this build is going

Starting to think NA is the way to go with these Gen V motors

Very nice laynlo, I know it’s hard to justify all the smaller stuff that barely adds power but when you combine everything together , it’s quite a difference . Stuff like the UDP, bigger TB, etc. For going after ET, I recommend skinnies . They help everywhere .

I agree, done the drag pack on my 2016 1ss with Maggie 2650 and did it on my C7 I sold last December plus after 54 years of drag racing I've done all of it. I appreciate your input my friend but believe me I've been thru this dozens of times. Its all about how much I want to spend at 70 years old. I love your car and what you've done. I already have a 95mm TB and looking for a Lt2 ported IM. I'm on the fence on spending with this car so we'll see what happens in the next couple months.

If you can deal with some of the issues like low speed drivability, a high stall converter if you are automatic, and more frequent valvetrain adjustments, then yeah, gen v motors do great naturally aspirated.

The other option is to bolt on a blower, free up the exhaust, and upgrade the entire fuel system. Keep the boost low and it should last a good long time as King and several other members have done successfully.

I'm doing the blower and fuel system upgrade as I can do all the labor myself. Heads and cam on the other hand, I would have to have a shop do the build and that is a whole lot of labor I am not willing to pay for, not to mention the waiting times these days to schedule an appointment.

I've already been the blower route with my 16 SS with the Maggie 2300 then the 2650, plus I worked for Magnuson and raced for them also until March 2020 when Covid came on the scene. I just sold my C7 which was a 10 second bolt on car. I know all about the shortages and long wait times. I'm not going the converter route or cam. Might do long tubes at some point but will continue to work on the tune with my buddy Phil who helps me out. Just trying to figure out if I want to spend money on the trans (TCU) so we can tune it.

I am well aware sir, I was following your heartbeat 2300 build and results with great interest back then, as with King, toohighpsi and many others. You guys laid the foundation for success to power upgrades on LT1 6th gens as far as I'm concerned.

PS: fantastic results on E blend, let us know how it does with the drag radials.

Thanks man, we put in some time on this forum for sure. When I went to the C7 I kinda hung around to keep up with things and I'm still here after 6 years as is King, Toohigh and many others who still support the Gen6 forum. Thanks for you contributions also.
