My window sticker says US and Canada parts content 57%, Mexico 19%

The country of origin for the engine is US, for the transmission, Mexico.

Assembled in Lansing, MI.

Wow, first off a GM employee can easily afford a new camaro. I know, I have two, a 17 and an 69. Second, the oil pan probably is torqued by a robot.

The pan bolts are loose, my 17 SS 1LE started leaking around the 14k mile point, all of the pan bolts were only hand tight. I tightened them up and has been drip free every since.

My next oil change I will check all the bolts just to make sure, no leak yet, just preventative.

Thanks to all for the info here. My car was exhibiting some oil leak, not enough to show as a loss on the dipstick. It was traced to the oil cooler lines at the point they meet the coupling. New lines ordered. Due to this thread I had them check the pan and cooler bolts, all those were to OE spec.

For the record, I have a 17 1LE with 10,500 miles.

I just noticed almost all of my oil pan bolts were loose, I have a 17SS Fifty built in October of 16.

And there is some youtube videos of LT1 assembly and I think they have one of those multidriver set up things thats hanging from the wall and they are torqued all at once. I have a theory on what's going on here but I should probably not mention it to not get political.

It's interesting this thread popped up, I took mine into the dealer for unrelated issues, but when putting the Zl1 addons jack pads on the car yesterday, I noticed oil on the pan and looks as if it has been dripping onto the cross brace right behind the pan for some period of time. Car is at 12,800 miles which seems to be in line with others that posted on this thread. I wonder if mine is suffering from similar issues.

same problem here, the slow oil leak started at around the same 12k miles or so, now i have 13k. it drips about 1 drop every other day. After getting under the car a few weeks ago, I noticed oil around the oil cooler connection where the oil cooler line connects into the oil cooler.

Last week I brought it to the dealership to get it looked at and they could not determine where the oil leak was coming from even though i mentioned possibly the oil cooler. They could not find the source of the leak, and ended up putting a dye around the oil pan, and had me come back in this week (yesterday) for a 2 days service appt to see if the dye revealed the source of the leak.

called today and still no word about the outcome yet, the SA Vicky has been very nice, and will let me know later today what's up. The car is currently at the "Radley Chevrolet" dealership in spotsylvania, VA. i just hope they don't joyride (beat) the camaro, i took pics of the odometer and gas level, and have a dashcam but it is not hardwired, they can easily unplug it. I really need that Gen5DIY harness that goes tucked inside the overhead console.

Most of these issues are from the heat exchanger, not the oil pan itself. (4) 8mm headed bolts.

That makes more sense, since after 3 days, they still could not find the leak. i didnt see any more oil drips in the garage after the first time i took it to service last week, hopefully it was a un-related issue, a few months ago i spilled some oil in the engine bay, but not enough to cause a slow drip for about 2 months.

The UAW Union workers make a good wage and I’m sure they could buy one of these cars easily.
