Interesting metrics with ZLE oil life...

Just noticed after last weekends track event the oil life meter is at 50% now. It was 100% on the trailer headed to VIR...interesting. GM adjusted something in the oil life metrics as my '17 ZL1 would show typical percentage reduction from mileage...maybe 8-10%. Just thought noteworthy to mention. Oh, I had approximately 250 miles on track over two days.

Yep, on my ‘19 my oil life has gone from 100% all the way to 0% on a weekend with a lot of track time.

Nice! Anyone else go through 4 full tanks gas in a weekend? No wonder that oil life just plummets.

Were you running 0W40 or 15W50 oil on track with the new ZLE? How did it perform compared to your other ZL1?

I ran 15w50 and I'm not sure I'm going to continue at least at VIR. Oil temperatures were much warmer than I recall with the other car...285 or so with ambient temp only 55. I may run 5w40 Motul next time for a comparison. That's what I ran in the other car and everything settled in at 275ish even at ambients above 90. ZLE is an amazing machine. I can run laps similar to the old magride ZL1 with almost no effort... I ran my personal best without even hardly trying. It absorbs curbs so much better than a mag-ride car and handles transitions much better. There is no body lean and it demands more aggressive inputs. I took baby steps but I could have pushed much harder.

I went through about four full tanks as well.

20min session at MSRH is about 5/8 of a tank for me. So if I don't fill up after the session, I'll run out of gas the next session. However, the car is too fast and too much of a dream to drive for me to care.
