New Guy Here. 2015 Z/28 #00048

Hello Camaro fam.. Just wanted to officially drop in and say hello. I was fortunate enough to talk forum member j o n into selling me his incredibly well kept Z/28.

I am a long time hot rod builder but was ready to mix it up a little. I wanted something to hop in, hit the key and have a blast in but not lose my a$$ on a few years down the road. I knew the Z/28 was the car for me. I am sure you all know the car so I wont bore you with the details. I am doing my best to leave it stock even though my best friends is an LS tuner, owns a dyno and a performance parts dealer who sells me stuff at cost.

I was lucky enough to acquire a NOS GM wickerbill on eBay a few weeks back at an absolutely unbelievable price. I just don't know if I can bring myself to drill giant holes in the spoiler. Thinking I might grab another OEM spoiler to mount it to and can swap them on and off the car when I want.

Looking forward to many years of ownership.. Such a well balanced car and very fun to drive.

Congrats. You purchased a great example. You were also lucky enough to buy a wickerbill for what they are really worth and not get ripped off. Congrats on that too.

Congratulations and welcome to the club. I am in the same boat as you, as I am beating myself up trying to decide on leaving it stock or making it mine and doing what I want. Also great score on the wicker bill. I work for GM and have been asking around and searching the web but with no luck. Not sure how I missed the one you picked up lol GJ. But if you are ever thinking of selling it please let me know.

Congrats - glad you joined the group - Z is a fun car. Enjoy your new ride - don't worry about drilling holes - you will never take it off, once on your car - so drill away! Great find on the WB for $135 - sold for $395 new OEM - then folks were selling them for $500 - $1,000 as you could not get one! they are still out there - lucky you found one!

Great purchase of an obviously well cared for vehicle. I originally purchased mine with the intention of doing a few LS horsepower mods but once I drove it as intended I discovered it was an extremely well balanced machine. I have several projects and each one has attention items such as brake issues, tire upgrades, trans leaks, diff leaks etc etc. It is nice to have ONE car that has not been over-tinkered and I can just jump in, turn key and have over 500 HP! Even has cold A/C. Sometimes it seems too good to be true.

Congrats and welcome. You’re the guy that beat me to that wickerbill. It was in my email notifications, clicked on it and sold! You don’t see them at that price anymore.

You need a new dealer. I paid $140 for mine back open 2015 when I picked the car up.
