Canadian Ordering Timelines
I've been browsing these forums for awhile now. I'm about to place an order for a 2SS and I'm wondering how long it has taken my fellow Canadians to get their cars. Obviously there is no point in the car arriving over the winter, but normally we are done with winter in February. Most of the info I have found is US based. The dealer I was speaking with has said 16-20 weeks depending on allocation and they have issues getting allocation through the winter. Anyhow, I'd love to hear what your Canadian experiences have been.

Ordered my car June 21 and it showed up at the dealer on September 7th.
It was supposed to be there August 19 but was held at the plant. I am literally 3 hours from plant. |

It depends on how many allocations your dealership has, the more it has the better chance of yours being built fast and shipped.
My dealership had a large allocation, and mine arrived in 60 days from paper to delivery. |

Same here 10 weeks.
16 weeks to me means they have no allocations and hope to get one in the next month or so, then they can submit your order. After that it should be 9-10 weeks.

Thanks for the info. I went in today and started the process and placed the order. Unfortunately I learned that the engine and the convertibles are still constrained. I'm not in a rush as I don't need it to show up until February. As long as that happens I will be happy.

There is NO way I could order and wait months.. Im "II" that close to dropping my money at a dealer.. and there are 4 in my Province that fit the bill.. have at least the options I want ( maybe more). After my test drive of another 2SS.. We will see whats gettable. Days - not weeks or months, No way Jose.

I understand where you are coming from, however the car I want doesn't exist in the province. Also it's almost winter, so why rush? I'm not about to drive it in the winter anyhow.

Ordered mine on October 1. I was told 6-8 weeks, but in my experience dealers tend to tell you what you want to hear. If I get it by the end of 2016 I will be happy.
Ever since I've been buying new cars, I've always factory ordered. I typically want very specific options and colors, and I'm willing to wait for them. Secondly, other than the staff that needs to move the car, deliver it, inspect it, etc., I want my ass to be the first one in that seat. I don't like the idea that any 18 year old can walk into a dealership and test drive what will eventually be my future car. But the wait....is hard.

Ok well I finally did order my car on October 3rd, but have had a terrible time hearing back from the dealership. Finally heard yesterday that it has been built and was shipped November 2nd. I honestly don't have a lot of confidence that it is coming because that seems quick. Dealer says it will be here by the end of the month as well.

Here's an example of a portion of the form (usually 2 pages), I left out the personal info section, but you can see the vehicle info, the "Current Event" is on the right: |

Thanks for the tip Squalo. I tried to contact Becky but I guess she can only see US orders. I'm going to try the Chevy chat function as well. I'm not confident that I will hear back from my dealer anytime soon. Thanks.
