The wife finally killed my Camaro

Sadly I had a feeling it was just a matter of time but thanks to a red light running dillhole my 16 RS is no more. From my research it seems the 6th gens don't survive accidents very well but they more than do their job protecting those inside. All airbags deployed accept the steering wheel. Yes it sucks, but my baby walked away with just a sore chest from the seatbelt and that's more than I could have asked for.

A terribly sad sight indeed, sorry about your loss of such a thoroughly customized and presumably much appreciated Camaro. The sacrificial protection offered by this car's cockpit is more than welcome, though, because cars can be replaced, your wife cannot.

Good luck with the insurance, this looks like a definite total loss to me.

Ouch! That really sucks. Very glad the wife is OK, though. Hope she continues to feel OK, and you can get back on the road soon.

Thanks, yeah, I had her decked out and just short of 400hp. I'm in CA and thinking my next project will be something pre 1972.

That and the word “finally” made me think she had been trying for a while unsuccessfully to kill the Camaro.

Glad your wife is ok.

And for the record a front airbag won’t generally go off in a side impact. Different sensing systems.

Sounds like you really love and appreciate your wife... blaming her in the title for another driver hitting her

^^^ Agreed, sounds like someone running a red light killed your Camaro. Why are you blaming your wife in the title?

Well if you're going to T-Bone someone's wife, at least don't kill the other guy's car in the process

in all seriousness, glad she's ok. All the crash testing and safety stuff we moan about from time to time is precisely for this.
