She went boom.

17 ZL1. 1/2 mile roll race and first time out it felt a little lethargic and was 4-5 mph off normal. 2nd time another mph slower.

Came back let it cool and another mph slower and dropping oil like holy cow.

In the shop and waiting for a compression and leak down test but I've been down this road a few times. Not good. Ugh!!!

I hope you can get it back up and running quickly! Is your ZL1 stock and still under warranty?!

Oil pump ever changed? Sure sounds like it broke. Engine probably is fine unless you still decided to race it with little to no oil pressure.

Yikes. Hate to hear this. Hope it didn’t do additional damage other than the part that failed. Good luck getting it sorted.

Didn’t 2017 have oil pump failure that’s not uncommon ?

Hopefully you get it repaired and back to half mile racing.

With 40k miles and 688 whp it's certainly not under warranty. I'll be surprised if it isn't wiped.

So where is this 1/2 mile roll race and how do I get a ticket to race?

Was the oil pressure monitor/gauge reading low!?!? Did any CEL’s come on to alert you of some sort of problem? In any case, I’m sorry to hear about the issue and am definitely looking forward to getting your feedback/updates. Thanks brother

Google "No Fly Zone Az". Ran by Omega Motorsports. 1/2 mile roll racing in Gila Bend, Az at the airport. On my "to do" list for my Z/28.

Nope, no cel or big drop in oil pressure.

Dropping a little mph is not a good indicator as I've gained 4 mph over the course of a day so dropping a little each time was not a huge red flag. The puddle of oil was.

Kicking around what to do with it. Not in a hurry at all. If I decide to fix it I'll have to think long and hard if I want to throw big bucks at it and add another 100 hp or find a take out engine and then sell it, or sell "as is".

I've got some family things at the moment that take way more priority then this.

Is the oil coming from a hole or crack in block created by broken rod? I understand you're doing compression and leak-down but identifying the source of leak seems like the best first step

Haven't verified source of leak yet other then it leaks under power and scope shows 2 piston rings broke and cylinders scuffed.

It may sit for at least a month till a few other things get some answers.
