There is no tire that will do well both in inclement weather AND a 1/2 mile event. MPS4S for daily/travel use are fantastic in the wet. And just tow whatever tire you want to use for your 1/2 mile runs like R888R's or whatever. There's a few trailer hitch threads over in the track day section, like this one: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=531431 |

Dang. Now I can sell the truck and get a lumber rack and a class 5 hitch for my dailies and towing the bassboat as well. Yeehaw!
Actually I'm a year out from moving back to Phx for the winter so the track events are a 15 and 45 minute drive when that happens. If I was going to not get closer I'd entertain a hitch and small trailer possibly. On a return trip in November going about 60 I hit a small patch of black ice and had the back end come around. Can't imagine how that would have gone with a trailer on it though. Thanks guys for all the suggestions! |

The wheels were mismatched so probably. He did a test and gets better times with the R888R. He puts them on like everything he tests. They're the best non radial street tire for sure. If you're not tracking I don't think any tire is comparable.
