3R heat cycle tips?
Hi,
SS 1LE, after five sets of standard Goodyear 3's, I grabbed a set of 3R's from tirerack, but to heat cycle them was a 60 day wait. In the past, I simply put 200 miles on them prior to track use. I know these will wear quicker being 100 Tw. Question, do I need to do anything different than described above prior to track use? Thanks Tim |

Ideally you would heat cycle them 1 time and wait at least 24 hours before running them again. That can be pretty hard to do on track so I've done it by driving them on my local "test road". But I've also had to go straight to track with a brand new set and it didn't seem to matter much for longevity. What will kill them is driving on them to the track depending on distance. They need a lot of camber, I'm at -3 front and -2 rear and its not enough so I will be getting more soon. Also tried flipping them on the rim which works but not as fast as normal.

Not sure. But as stated, I trailer mine. With the base 3's I would just put a couple of hundred street miles on them and that seemed to do best for track wear. Looking forward to seeing the difference!
