Quick Jack question

Hey received the 5000SLX for XMAS from my wife. Appears I need to "move" back my zl1 lift block back one position (the front one), but the inside lip does not sit flush with the floor unless you let it "rock" inwards a bit. What am I missing?

Thx

Tim

I use my -5000 all the time on my 1LE. You can use the 'aft' front lift points in conjunction with the zl1addons in the back.

I also got a pair of the zl1addon lift pucks for the front lift points.

I may be misunderstanding your post, but any lift block should be contacting the bottom edge of the pinch weld and not the floor itself. In other words, the bottom surface of the pinch weld is supporting the weight and not the floor itself.

I think he means that the base of the pinch weld is not the same height on each side (of the pinch weld). I noticed this as well when I was installing mine. It makes the lift blocks sit at a slight angle rather than perpendicular to the base.

To the OP. I was concerned about this at first, but it doesn't seem to have resulted in any bending of the pinch weld when the car is raised.

Just make sure to look the base area carefully and ensure it's smooth before you try to mount the lift block. I noticed there were a few places that had raised welding extrusions (imperfections) that would have prevented the block from sitting flat along the length of the lift block. I just simply moved the block 1/2 inch further along the pinch weld till if found a clean (smooth) spot.

Thanks for the feedback. N Camarolina was spot on with my concern. I have since picked up the extensions and that should allow me to move the "front" block a bit more forward.

MatthewAML, relooking at the link you added, so you left the front std bolt on lift pads and then the magnetic on the 2nd further back front lift point? That 3 inch left might be easier. Then you have the front perm mounted for service center or floor jack.. Might think about that and send the extensions back...
