I think they are there to slightly improve gas mileage
Yep, their primary purpose is to improve mpg by diverting air around the front tires. They're so ugly I could no longer stand them and left them off when installing a front splitter.

Mine came off this past May, when I put the front ACS splitter with undertray on. The air deflectors would not go back on with the undertray as they did not sit right and were not meant to go back on once the undertray was installed, so I left them off. I have not noticed any difference, not even with the gas mileage.

Definitely NOT cheap but at 325 lb. I can slide under the front end of my SS laying on my side.I looked at them as a long term investment.

I guess I'm cheap. I have a hard time justifying $400+ for foam blocks.

I went this route for now.
