Car Carrier, Interstate Move

Hi folks -- trust you/yours are and remain well. Wife has determined we're moving to be closer to family. While in Maryland in late February of this year on a business trip (yes, probably got back home in the nick of time...) met a guy and his wife at the hotel bar. He drove a car carrier up and down the east coast, interesting conversation. Never thought I'd have occasion to inquire; however, I'm considering having my Camaro shipped vice flying back and driving it to Georgia.

That said, to my question: does anyone know of a reputable, preferably enclosed car carrier with a good reputation and reasonable prices? Probably got a couple months before we move and I'll have the Camaro in a local storage location for pickup.

Thanks.

I needed to have this done once, and I just couldnt trust anyone else to care enough . So I did this one way...pretty inexpensive really.

What are the costs for renting a trailer like that and a truck that will pull it?

I had my Z/28 shipped from Alabama to AZ, $2400 via United Routes. Great service, covered of course. Friend of mine used Intercity from California to S. Carolina. Enclosed, similar price. He was very happy.

Appreciate the replies, shopping around. Everyone out there seems to be a broker and find drivers to bid/ship via Load Board.

You might check into the carriers that Barrett-Jackson and Mecum Auctions use.

I used Montway Auto Transport to transport my vette from Fl. to Ill. It went enclosed and they did a good job.

I didn't feel like I could trust anyone either unless I was willing to pay about $2400 like the others have said. I was already renting the U-Haul truck to go from San Diego to Colorado Springs so I added the trailer and threw the Camaro on the back for about $400.

Then, my company paid to ship one car for us so we sent my wife's SUV. We were told is was travelling on a car hauler but it showed up on the trailer in the second pic. This cost my company $1400. We confirmed with him that he did pick up the car in San Diego on that trailer.

I am glad I brought the Camaro myself since it basically travelled the same way, for much cheaper and under my supervision.

I forgot the one I used when I moved to Stl to here (FL) but it was about $450 at the time and was towed on a truck similar to what they use for the dealers and I had no issues. Gas was expensive at the time, plus the wear on a 1200 mile drive and I thought it was worth the money having it shipped down to me not having to drive it and all.
