Install Lowering Springs While Still Under Warranty
Checking to see who has installed aftermarket (non-GM) lowering springs on their cars prior to your warranty expiring. Also would like to know if you experienced any warranty issues that the dealer wouldn't address as as result of installing the lowering springs.
I realize it has to be proved the installed part did not cause the issue. Reason for the question, I got a great deal on aFe Lowering Springs. I told myself I would wait until my warranty expires before installing my springs. If it wasn't for COVID-19 I would have hit 36K miles around this time. I average 24K miles/year. I recently started going to the office a few days during the week and at the current rate, will need to wait 10-11 months before my warranty expires. I'm torn between waiting to hit 36K miles or moving forward and installing my springs now (currently at 23K miles). Thanks in advance for your input. |

I installed my lowering springs (Eibach) in the first six months of ownership. My oil pump was still replaced under warranty at least a year later. If a strut or other suspension component had failed it likely would not have been covered which is understandable.
