Dealers, women and shame
In this day and age, why dealers service writers still take advantage of women amazes me. She took her Colorado Z71 to the dealer for scheduled oil and rotation. Then pressured her to buy "fuel injection" service @ $300+
So pushing a service that GM does not recommend and after she told them she was going to call her husband , they backed off after two attempts. I know this pads their profit, but Ms. Bara, great cars and trucks, this type of treatment in your service departments is just unprofessional and not acceptable, period. Tim Henderson |

this is pretty standard practice and it doesn't matter if the customer is a man or woman! at Dealerships, their money is made on Parts & Service (not selling cars).

Definitely happens to men and women all of the time. A Mazda service department talked my son into getting a 4 wheel alignment as part of routine service, even though there were no issues. I called the service manager afterwards to complain, and he credited the cost back.

The service advisor compensation plan Is heavily slanted towards pay that requires the advisor to sell Many different products… Virtually all of them worthless… You can make your intentions known right at the get go when you start talking to them. No need to be rude , just firm… good rule: If it’s not in the manual, I don’t want it done…
