Track This Spring

Ok I'm planning on hitting the track this spring. I have a few mods and planning on long tube headers soon. What do you guys have for tips on my first trip to the strip??

First step for most is wheels/tires.

Pick a tuner and talk to them before doing anything is my best advice. Plan out your build regardless of how extensive or modest it is. There are a lot of rabbit trails around here.

See this for Race Star discussion.

Biggest mistake I made at the point where you are now was wheels (Race Star 92). Wish I could go back to where you are now and buy lighter wheels (Bogart, Billet Specialties, Weld (light Welds there are heavy ones, too) or any other good, light weight wheel (under 20 lbs for a 9.5 x 17 or 10 x 17). If you think you may be "going big" start looking at 15" conversion now.
Agree ,wish I would have gone with better wheels also, you get what you pay for!

Drag or circuit? If circuit your best friend is an amazing set of brake pads. Nothing kills a day like brake fade
