Ghost Rev and Why

2017 Zl1 w 7k miles, 2nd owner, manual transmission.

Yesterday in stop and go traffic, am feathering/ quick blip of the gas pedal to hear the stock exhaust - about 1,500 rpm then BAM ( no longer on the gas), the RPM jumps to about 5500rpm and then back to normal idle.

Track mode on, temp about 83 degrees. ... nothing unusual. AC on..

Ghost rev happened 2 other times after quick blip the gas pedal.

Is there a post in this or anyone else experienced this?

There’s quite a few posts about this, mostly on 2017 models.
Not sure if there’s been a resolution but there’s been a lot of talk about “Rev Match” being the cause of it. You didn’t mention if rev match was on?

I experienced that last week in my 2017 when it was in Sport mode and no rev matching. I was pulling in a parking lot and the engine revved up and then went back to normal. Really surprised the heck out of me too!

I too am the 2nd owner of my 2017 with almost 4000 miles now. If I remember my 2016 SS did that a few times and surprised me too. I used Sport mode and rev matching about 90 percent of driving time.

Not sure where to even start to find rev Match. I think I need a class that teaches this Zl1

Graduated from the 45th anniversary SS to the Zl1

I see a dealer call being made tomorrow

The paddles on the steering wheel are the rev match on/off for the manual. I hit them accidentally occasionally.
