I could never get over the base c7's fake trans and diff cooler vents. Z51 or up for me for that reason alone.

While the Camaro benefits a lot from from a wide stance in the 1le and zl1's imo I think the non wide body better look nice in the right color and z51 wheels, albeit the GS and Z06 look better.

Same here!
GS or Z06 or my 1LE.
My wife says a Corvette is too midlife crisis...I told her I'm beyond midlife, I'm on my way out!
But the wallet only allows the 1LE...for now!
Maybe when I get to my second childhood, my wife will think it's perfect!

Now now...unless he is your buddy that you normally talk shiet with, this is not a nice thing to say about someone's neighbors.
Best to just stick to the topic!
You love Corvettes...nothing wrong with that, no need to defend your desired choice of vehicle.
Others love Camaros...nothing wrong with that either!

Glad you have a Corvette, if I could afford a Grand Sport or Z06, I would have one too!

As the OP asked, which he should get, best to say WHY you feel he should get a Corvette or Camaro, and not shiet over other people's opinions.

Since you're 68yr, you know what opinions are like, and everyone has two.

So lets all respect each others opinion and stick to the topic.

I get 29-31 on the freeway on 91.
Vette is lighter and more areo dynamic.
That doesn't surprise me one bit.

Never got this attitude in any other car in over 40 years of driving.
I swear people threw stuff at the car as I drove along.

Wow! i'm not the only one. I had a c6 for two years. I loved that car, but hated how it was perceived. I just couldn't understand it, and i still don't understand it! Non-enthusiasts just refuse to believe you bought it because it's an awesome performing car, and there must be some deep psychologically bad reason for it. It's truly bizarre.

I really see the vette and camaro in the same family, and my reasoning for getting either would be the same. I've actually kind of thought my camaro on order is a corvette with a needed back seat for my kids! It's so interesting how they are perceived so differently.

Anyone with a SS Camaro and half a brain knows you are not making it up.
Don't worry.

I also own a 2018 Camaro since 1/2. Bright Yellow. I haven't had a single person walk up and talk about it. Or stop and look. Just the opposite with the Corvette. For someone to use the words "always" and "never" immediately makes it BS. I rarely use those words because they rarely apply to anything. That's why I called BS,as politely as I could.

It's frustrating when folks say things they have absolutely no clue about. And my car was so unstable at 75,shaking so badly, how did I manage to take that pic! The engine wasn't even broken in yet at 2900 miles and I got that MPG.

The Camaro SS 1LE is very close on performance to the Corvette Stingray Z51.
For the looks get the Stingray. For the $ the Camaro. I know because I owned both.

When the C7 was introduced, the looks were very polarizing. I did not like it in the beginning, but by 2017,I liked it enough to trade a 3 month-old Mustang GT w/Perf. Pkg for it.

I get the type of people that think they know more about my car than I do, I just roll my eyes and walk away.
That it doesn't matter what kind of Camaro I have it is only fast in a straight line,Tell me how much power it makes, that OHV gets bad gas milage and are inferior, that the car is impossible to see out of no matter who you are... The list goes on and on.

I have Dyno graphs, pics, and videos to back up my claims just Incase I feel like making someone feel like an idiot.
