Does anybody use the Proclip dash mount

I mean the one that clips to the right side of the dash and puts the phone at eye level between the dashboard and the entertainment system?

I got one but after installation, it interferes with the windshield wiper stalk and puts the phone way too close to the wheel/hand.

Furthermore, after removing the clip, the gap in the dash panels did not close...

Is it user error?

Sent an email to ProClip customer service two days ago and no response yet...

UPDATE: got email from Proclip with an RMA so I can return the mount.
With IOS12 on the way that will allow third party maps, I may not need a phone mount anymore.

I had a proclip for my g37 coupe and had a similar issue. It would fit into / under the panel with enough force but didn't let the dashboard close around it. It eventually left a little tear in the soft material in the dash and I just took it out. not a small amount of money wasted.
My boss has two proclips in his vehicle and loves them. Then again you're out another 30 bucks when it's time to switch phones. I got a adhesive mount with a magnet for the phone from Costco and it works GREAT

I have one in my Camaro, and have to agree the position is not ideal. I also have one in my 2015 GMC Canyon and it works really well. That was the reason I got it for the Camaro.

I have one in my Camaro. No problems.
Here are two pics with the wiper stalk in the upmost position. Everything clears.

Remove the phone cradle, then super glue https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to it.
Put metal plate on back of phone cover.
Magnetic holds phone securely.

I have it but like others I use an adhesive magnet mount instead of the Pro Clips holder. The metal plate in the phone case is low enough that I can mount my phone above the wiper stalk. An added benefit is that the phone is tall enough to use as a dash cam.

I have the same mount and I don't have any problem with interference of the wiper stalk. I use the Galaxy Note 8 for medium case (adjustable). I have one in my Z06 as well as my Ram 2500 and like them because they fit well, are durable and last!

Why not just stick it directly on the 7-8" screen you already have in the dash since that screen doesn't seem to be getting used in lieu of your phone's?

I'm sure you can get a suction cup style low profile mount on amazon and just mount it right there, easy peasy.

+1 for Proclip with diy magnetic mount. In 8 months of ownership, it hit my knuckles once or twice and fell off once going over a pot hole.

I use it with my Note 9 and no problems getting my wipers into the up most position. Absolute love this phone mount I've ever used with my phone fits great and holds great.
