My issue turned out to be F44 under the hood. Thanks gen5diy , I had no idea what fuse that would have been

I had to cut the wires and resolder again. They did also plug the loose plug I found back in, it was for the mirror (Onstar). However, I have not voltage at those wires anymore. I didnt have the wires cut, I just stripped back the coating, and soldered in to them. I have no voltage at all. I understand they are for the AIR BAG lights. The AIR BAG lights DO work. I even bought the adapter from GEN5DIY for the radar detector and leads to use as my power for the dashcam. I get no voltage at all for either device. As I mentioned, the Airbag lights are working. I do have the car started and not just in accessory mode. Is there maybe a fuse out for when the dealer had my +12 screwed down in the headliner somewhere? It just does not make sense as the airbag lights are working. I currently have my radar detector spliced in under the dash from another post I seen. I was just trying to clean it up and have everything fed from the overhead console. If I cant figure this out, I will just run the dashcam wire down to where the radar detector is spliced in as well. Thanks in advance. BTW-I am measuring the voltage with a multimeter. I have a strong electronic background but I cant figure this one out.

Just picket up the extension from Gen5DYI... As for the connector with the red-clip. I was able (so far) to:
1) Tilt overhead carrier down at 45deg+. (Cover your mirror 1st)
2) Using small/thin flathead, place on-top of white section of connector and push between
it and the red-clip.
3) Twist flathead which will now force red clip upwards to unlock. ( The clip is a lock)
4) Now take flathead to mid-section on connector and pry up-and-out.

.... I should be able to complete the harness install w/o any other items removed, as
now that one connector removed (which was the short one) now give much MUCH more
movement of the overhead console.

Any idea how much power this can port can handle? Would it be possible to also wire in a front and rear dash cam to the same wire as the radar detector?

Has anyone tried this with a convertible?

Not running it through the console but gaining access above the rear view mirror?

I have the mirror tap and blend mount, just seeing if this can be done like the coupe.

Great demo. I just wired mine in last week.

I wired one into a truck I owned in the early 2000's. Considering I've only got one 12v and it's in a bad location for something that stays plugged in, this is necessary.

Reviving this, Has anyone found an alternative Radar mount? Dont want to spend $100+ just to hang it.

Also, anyone with PDR have these installed? Isnt the PDR in the way?

The PDR is in the rear view mirror, isn't it? If so, you would have to be careful not to block the view of the PDR lens. You could use a really long cord and put you detector to one side or another instead of center, then tuck the wire under the headliner? I'm going to do this when the weather gets a little warmer and dryer!

I looked at it yesterday and the box where the camera is located is actually behind the mirror (not in it). Its actually on the windshield, so now its a matter of finding out if a mount goes low enough where it doesn't touch the PDR box.

For those that put the mute button under the push star button do you guys just wedge it in the headline to route the cable down there? Or you guys actually take about the headliner, pillar airbag ect? If this is the case I'm not hard wiring anything and will remain with my smart cord in the way.

I have an R3 hooked up with a tap to the airbag light and it works great until you fishtail the car and the detector powers off, every time. You can slam over bumps and all is good, swing the ass and it's off, I thought it was a connection issue but it is not. Hooked it up with the smart cord to the acc outlet and no problems. Has anyone else have this happen?

Where I mounted the Radar Detector:

CONCEALED DISPLAY with directional arrows of where the radar is coming from (the main display is dark when this is connected so no lights blinking on the windshield...important for convertibles)

What I REALLY like about this approach is that if a police officer walks up to my driver's side, this is their view.....there is no obvious radar detector. They can't see the main unit, which is dark and behind the mirror, and they can't see the concealed display down by the knee pad.

I know they are legal most places I drive, but some police officers see one and may not cut a break because they figure someone with one has gotten away with speeding many other times. (oh, and please ignore the paper towels...lol...realized I wiped the windshield and still had them in the passenger seat!)

I realized that I never posted my hardwire setup for this.

Since I have the V1connection to bluetooth to my phone, AND Concealed Display, I needed the hardwire power plus accessory connection with two RJ-45 jacks plus a phone jack splitter. No way that would all go up in overhead, so wired to center console

Took off center console (6 bolts - 2 under each knee pad, and two under the round pop out covers by back seats (under wireless charger)

Disconnected Cigarette lighter power connector and used quick wire splices to connect wiring harness to power and ground

Bottom of console where cigarette lighter power outlet is

Here is the power connector, the V1 Connection bluetooth and the splitter I got

I was able to use wire ties and place each part in areas where they won't get in way or shift around.

Ok, similar situation here. I have a 17 ZL1 6mt with PDR being delivered next week. I have the Valentine One that I took out of the 718 Cayman before selling. Unfortunately, the hardwire kit and the V1 holder/mount (idk what you call it) is sold with the car. I had a Blendmount, and everything was perfect.
I just messaged DIY Gen5 about their wiring harness. What's the easiest setup to purchase that has everything I'm looking for? Do I just call Blendmount and buy the mirror mount and wiring kit? Or is there a better alternative? I'm not doing the work myself, basically because I'm a moron, and would likely break everything. So it will be professionally installed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated... I of course don't want anything to get in the way of the PDR camera.
