SS1LE to ZL11LE Aero Conversion

I drive a 2019 SS1LE and am considering removing the wicker bill and adding a ZLE rear wing. Has anyone done this? I am striking out trying to find parts?

Additionally, what other aero needs to be done to ensure that the car drives well and doesn't understeer. It is a weekend car/track car for me.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

I wouldn't do it unless I'm able to then drive it like Bill Wise... but if you want the same exact thing, or even something close, it'll cost you. A lot.

The big ZL1 1LE carbon fiber big wang alone is $4k+ and very difficult to get these days, so I'd go aftermarket for that.

You'll need ZL1 style side skirts, again aftermarket is your best option because the ZL1 has them molded into the side rocker panels (which also means that unless you change these panels as well, you can't have a 100% identical aero effect, because aftermarket skirts have a hollow bottom unlike the flat bottomed stock ZL1 part). Another complication is that the ZL1 front fenders are 1" wider than the SS, so you either leave that alone and go with an aftermarket lookalike or buy ZL1 rockers and a fender spacer kit (Gen5DIY used to sell one, hopefully they still do).

Then you'll need a ZL1 1LE style front splitter, which won't fit your SS front fascia, so it's either gonna be a full ZL1 1LE front fascia replacement or an aftermarket lookalike splitter.

Finally, the two canards, you will need to slice the mounting holes into the front fender (unless you also buy ZL1 1LE fenders in the previous step), I'm not 100% sure the location is marked up on the inside of the SS fenders, I do know that the standard ZL1 fenders are.

Even after all these changes, you won't have a fully ZL1 1LE aero, because the bottom of your car is different, but it'll probably be close enough.

Again, I just wouldn't do it, but of course it's your car and your money (What I did do is the standard ZL1 spoiler, ZL1 style aftermarket side skirts and an OEM SS 1LE splitter, which is a reasonably balanced and relatively cheap setup, already waaay more capable than I am as a driver.)

The ZLE spoiler won't disrupt your balance with much significance. If you really want to balance it out, a small splitter on the front or canards should be sufficient. I think the quoted numbers for the ZLE are 300lbs of downforce at 150mph. I don't recall if that is total or just the wing.

The biggest downside of the wing is that you either have to drill holes in your trunk, or swap trunks with an SS or ZL1. I ended up drilling holes and bought a knockoff ZLE wing. It was fine for the speeds at my local track(~140mph) but I probably would have tried to reinforce the internal mounting points if I was going faster.
