It's August 7th folks!! It is currently 7:42 am Eastern Standard Time and the moment first shift arrives to their stations at the Lansing Grand River assembly plant and the plant operators throw those switches, the first of the last Camaros - a car that has been a purely American icon since 1967 (we're ok with the years it spent being built at our cousins to the North for the 4th and 5th gen) will begin assembly for all of us with orders in!

A very happy yet melancholy and bittersweet day.

While I am very happy to supposedly have my 2ss built this week, it's sad for these cars to come to an end. I'm humble that I can afford one of these before their demise.

They only start the 24’s today if everything went well last week. The 22’s overran 1 1/2 days into the 23 schedule, due to some issues, so the same could have happened now.

I'm surprised your TPW is so early. Everything I heard was a looking like mass produce of all CE's, esp, the ZL1's first

I think because I got my order in back in June, like, maybe a day or two after the order slots opened for 2024, that I was able to get early production.

Not sure how they do paint but maybe they have enough sharkskin orders to do a batch right now. Do they go through by color in groups so all the paint is the same on a batch of cars?

My 2SS Vert, Red Hot with black/red gut, 6spd, red calipers and dual mode exhaust scheduled this week. Hoping it's not built during the last shift on Friday.
More importantly, anything missing in the build could be a deal breaker. My order being tracked by the sales manager, so all should be good.

Ditto, I made sure my salesman got the order in as soon as they opened ordering on 6/15

No Friday builds. Monday through Thursday.

There you go, doing the Lord's work. If you see any Riverside blue convertibles in the 2ss fashion, give me hope! My TPW was supposed to be this week, too.

My 2SS was built on a Monday, and sure enough it had a few minor things to be fixed (unlike my previous 6th gen Camaro, that little V6 was literally perfect out of the box). Someone must have missed a morning coffee or two

The dealership has almost no say as to what does or doesn't happen at the factory, and they don't always receive information about production. = whether the sales manager claims he is on top of the order or not is nearly regardless..
