The LT1 isn't much lighter then a 1SS at all. Not sure where you come up with a few hundred pounds lol.

I have seen 1SS cars come in around 3580lbs. LT1 might be 50lbs less tops.

Drag race.... Street race.... Either way, still faster than a SS.

But the good news is all the fluids will be cooler while you lose!!! Bwahahaha!!!

FYI, I think the 1LT/LT1 was 60-70 lbs lighter.

Not neccesarily. 60 or 70 lbs less is not a guaranteed win. What gas are you using that day? How much more air are you sucking in? Whats the weight of the drivers? Who will have the best traction. Who's car is running better that particular day and is responding to outside temps better? Who car was broken in the best?

Do the math...

SS= 3685
LT1= 3619

3685-3619=66 lbs.

You forgot:
Who has bird poo on the window (aerodynamic resistance)?
Excess combustion blow-by (due to tolerance stack)?
Who farted during the race and released some weight?
How much gas/E is in the tank and at what blend?
What color the car is (everyone knows shock is the fastest color)?
Is one car is a quart low on oil?
What type and weight of oil?
One driver is wearing a hat and the other isn't?

SOOOOOOOO many variables, it's mind boggling, isn't it?

Not with the stock tires... both on a drag tire, should be a tad quicker.

I feel like you'd regret buying the LT1 after a while, you don't want to be driving a V8 that everyone assumes is a V6... Well people who know at least a bit about cars. Many people assume my car is a V8 for some reason.

What I found out was the LT1 only has front Brembo brakes vs. Brembos on all 4 corners, differential cooler on the 1SS, extra auxiliary cooling on the 1SS, a nicer radio on the 1SS, and 245 rear tire width and all seasons on the LT1. I didn't get a chance to drive them as they park the Camaros close to the building and get boxed in by customers, but they seemed like nice vehicles. I have to say the 2020 front end, IMO, is a big improvement over the 2019 SS cars.

What I basically took away from comparing the two is that if you want to race or push the car hard, the 1SS is absolutely the way to go with the extra cooling and performance pieces. If you want a daily driver that has the potential for some extra fun spirited driving then the LT1 seems the way to go.
Do you mean the 1LT? LT1 is the engine in the ss model.

No, I mean the LT1. For 2020 Chevy is offering a LT1 model that is the base model body with a LT1 engine. It is supposed to be a lower cost way for people to get a V8. I do realize the terminology difference because 1LT is a V6 or turbo 4 model.

Yeah, I'll take the "basic sports car" with more amenities than your "true muscle car".
