The responses are likely to be split on this. The "easy on/easy off" option is to use the clamps; red one on the remote positive terminal under the hood and the black (negative) clamp grounded to a part of the frame nearby.

I did the same as KLG, did. My connection goes to the battery, and is in the trunk.

some of those cheap battery tenders are not battery tenders, they are trickle chargers.
Check to see if it is a real battery tender. A battery tender tests the battery and will charge when needed (avoids overcharging) and will even cycle the battery by applying a little load. (battery Maintainer). I use the one that came with the car; says Camaro on it. It works very well, and I connect it to the terminals under the hood. I also use this device on my trucks, and early model cars. |

What is the difference between a High Performance AGM starting battery and a High Performance AGM deep cycle battery?
Which one are we using in our Camaros? 1. High Performance AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) starting batteries 2. Just looked up the charging connectors under the hood. Wouldn’t it be a lot easier to hook up a trickle charger under the hood? I use a trickle charger that has small clamps.

I have found smart charger’s work better (read more consistently) when connected directly to the battery. Able to “read” the battery more accurately.

Why not just disconnect the battery in the trunk? Why do I need to trickle charge at all?
