Yes. In the Owner's Manual it explains that the tow hook is to be used if you need to be pulled on to a flat bed tow truck. That is the ONLY way to do it. Otherwise, your car likely gets f-ed up.

For towing, getting your car up on a rollback or out of mud. Most people put it in as a fashion accessory like a fancy honda. If your cars not broken or on a track, keep it in the trunk.
