Lash Cap Won't Fit On

I just got my TSP cam package and the lash cap I got with it won't fit on top of the fuel lifter. I tried to push hard on it and put some oil on it and it just won't go.

Do I need to try to chamfer it? Has anyone else had this problem? If I try to chamfer it should I do it on the cap itself or the fuel lifter?

Ok, thanks I will try it. Also does anyone know at what point the lifter is off the lobe on the camshaft? I know you are supposed to only tighten the fuel pump back when the fuel lifter is off the lobe. I tried to fit in a borescope to look at it but I can't see anything.

The caps are really tight some times. Sometimes we have to file them down.

They make a tool for the fuel pump lobe

Check out Kent Moore for that tool.

I have the tool, but I just dial indicator the min and max on the lobe and marked the crank.
