WATCH OUT

Make sure if you don'g get the dealership to fix it, you get a good glass company! I went through my insurance and now I am fighting with the installers due to 5 paint chips or scratches, 1 piece of old rubber covering my VIN number, and 1 piece of old rubber sticking out the driver side of the windshield. Unfortunately I could not be there to make sure it was done right

BB, my guess is it's more for people that have the remote start. This way it comes with the proper direction fitting (horizontal or vertical) from the factory.

My remote start is aftermarket, so it doesn't apply to me

Got mine from the dealership since they broke it. Waited 10 days for it to come in.

I called a local glass co. They did ask me if it had remote start & HUD. They use OEM replacement glass. They said it would cost $672. I have a $500 ded. on the insurance. I think the insurance co will pay for a repair to the windshield w/o deductible. The on mine goes to the bottom edge. I don't think it's repairable.

You really need to call the insurance company. Most have a windshield clause where the deductible is less or does not apply at all, but only when it comes to the windshield.

I have seperate "glass" insurance on mine.I had to ask for it in addition to the rest of the policy..its a few bucks extra on the premium....deductible is a hundred bucks, instead of the five hundred for everything else...Glad I had it for my windshield replacement!
