V6 Constraint?
I put in an order for a 2022 2LT V6 in July and am still at 1100 status. I just got off the phone with my dealer and found out that there is a constraint on the V6 engine and that's the only thing holding the order back. Does anyone have any info about this and when the constraint might be lifted? I thought only the ZL1 1LEs were constrained last time I checked.

Oh great - so my order that went in last week for for a V6 model will be held up longer probably. Meh. Hope by spring 2022 I get it!
Does 0% mean my order likely hasnt even "gone through" per se? Should I switch to the T4? I really wanted the 6 though. |

Is there a place where I can go and look at the constraints and check their statuses or is that tool only accessible to people who work at dealerships?

Yeah, I'd like to know too. This is making me rather nervous seeing as I ordered a V6 about a week ago. I hope its just a formality due to the chip thing or whatever. Ugh. |

This tool is only available to dealers. I want to say I have seen post say V6 is constrained until September 13th

Just heard last night that my dealer has received an allocation! Not 100% clear how it all works, but I've been told my order should get accepted within the next 3-4 weeks, so I'm guessing that means their allocation was for the second round in September.
Like several of you, the V6 is my preference, so I guess when that time comes if it's still on constraint I may need to decide to spend the extra $8k for SS or wait... At this point, being in MN, as long as my car arrives by March, I'll be happy. That will be a full year after I initially placed a '21 order, but in times like this with the auto market and many other supply chains messed up, it is what it is.

Yes - if the V6 ends up being the lone bottleneck I'll just take the T4. V8 is simply too much for me. Thats OK, the T4 is a fine engine and I'll be good with it if I have to go that way but lets hope we dont! |

I’m just the opposite. I’m not a fan of 4-cyl motors. I tend to keep my vehicles for several years and I’ve had bad luck with 4-cyl. In a z24 years back and in my current Equinox. May be partly my driving style, but I’ll probably never buy another.

Fair enough - and I get it. I do plan on keeping this car for many years too but it wont ever be my daily driver so the miles will be kept in check. That helps. But I understand. 4 cylinder engines seem like they are always working harder than 6 or 8 bangers to get the job done. This takes its toll. Lets hope we dont have to go there though. Or, I could always save extra starting now to go for a V8. |

I own a 2018 RS V6 myself. I've drove 3 other T4's (and even had one for a week as a rental) and for a daily driver that will be basically stock, I really do prefer the V6 quite a bit more. Plan on keeping it for a while considering I got an extended warranty too

I have heard, and it makes sense, that if you're into tuning then the T4 has a larger "cottage" industry for that. Not surprised. But, the biggest mods I'd ever consider would be a K&N air filter element(not the full intake replacement, just the element) and perhaps years down the road an exhaust upgrade. Thats 100% it. I didnt get the NPP exhaust. |

Yeah anything with a blower or turbo is going to make a ton more power with just simple tuning and adjustments. The T4 had nice pull between maybe 2500-5000 rpm, but anything before or after that felt somewhat lacking in my opinion. The V6 does feel a bit quicker, but it just does it in a way that's more smooth and linear, so it kind of doesn't feel it as much if that makes sense. And from a sound standpoint there's no comparison as far as I'm concerned The 6 in this car sounds really good even stock. I did a Flowmaster axle back, throttle body, and cold air intake, and it just made it that much better. |
