Im pretty sure the 10 spd auto is coming and possibly the 1LE package for the 2.0T engine. Yeah probably the SS will only get the 10spd. We will see I guess

If it really has a nice looking heat extractor and has the A10 I will be getting one for sure. The only thing that has stopped me from getting a 6th gen so far has been the A8 issues and not liking the nostrils.

8AT / 10AT could be part of a formula for lower cost SS / 1SS / 2SS.

2019 Corvette is still rocking the LT1/A8

Edit: just read that A10 will not fit in the C7

to be fair the current corvette can't physically fit the a10. so it won't ever have it unless a major redesign comes.

(And I don't believe the fanboy excuse in the other threads about how the total profit for Camaro is higher than the Mustang, Challenger, etc..)

Chevrolet wasted all of the major auto shows this year on a Hot Wheels edition Camaro. Think about that for a minute.... Those auto shows are insanely expensive. How many more Camaro sales do you think they'll get? There's no chance they'll ever sell enough Hot Wheels cars to even make up the auto show costs, much less turn a profit. No matter how much they advertise that vehicle, there are only a limited number of buyers for that car. Regardless of what Mattel paid Chevrolet, they'll never recoup the lost opportunity to show off what's new for '19.

Had they shown the '19s early. People would at least be able to make a decision to wait or move forward with an '18. Keeping customers in limbo can't be the best approach or all manufactures would be doing it.
The Base SS was slower than the GT during the fifth gen in most ways. It sold better.

Better performance very rarely has to do with better sales.

If they'd have announced it last year, sales for the 2018 Camaros would be even less than they are currently.

I'm gonna go with they probably know more than you when it comes to how to sale a brand.

Keep in mind though the fifth gen Camaros had a big sales advantage early on (2010, 2011) due to the fact that the Camaro had not been in production for seven model years prior. And I'm pretty sure the Mustang still outsold the Camaro if you include the all model years of the 5th Gen. Not to mention, while the Camaro was absent from the scene, Ford sold almost a million Mustangs. I'm sure that helped them get through the pain of being slightly outsold for two years.

Anyway, the point I was making is the Camaro engineers have made it easy for the Camaro marketing team. The Camaro is way better than the competition and the marketers should be leveraging the performance difference more. Instead, they keep wasting all of their marking resources pushing this damn Hot Wheels package that no matter what will never have mass appeal to the demographic who can afford these cars.

Last year would have probably been early, but they sure missed out on the big auto shows this year. And who knows if the '18 sales would be less. There are probably several customers who would buy an '18 now if they simply knew what was coming for '19 and didn't have a strong desire for the new features. Don't forget the sales they are potentially losing to competitors in the meantime. Some recent buyers of the Mustang/Challenger may have opted to wait for a '19 Camaro, who knows.

Maybe you're right, but let's not make this personal.

Chevrolet's marketing strategy for the Camaro is without a doubt different than what Ford and Dodge are doing with their pony cars. So does the Camaro marketing team know more than the Mustang and Challenger marketing teams too? Not according to the sales numbers.
