Wheels

Looking at getting these wheels for my car. What are the widest wheels I can fit without having to do any modifications?

Ha, I just put my set of Arc-8's on last week. I have 9.5 '' @ 22 ET square setup using the camaro compatible wheel. so I gained (half the wheel width) 12.5 mm plus 10 mm (32-22 ET) out which is one inch outbound all around.

I dont have the exact info to that question as to the Biggest meaning width and 'best' offset. But I will offer my info. Their camaro direct fit start at 10" at 20 ET if I recall. The LOWER the ET in mm is, the farther OUT bound the centerline of wheel is using the hub plane as the zero reference. Therfore also the outter edge.

All you can really do is assess the look of what you have with the existing spec as a guide and estimate the look. I say that because once the tire is mounted you own them.

I will say my square 19x9.5 @22ET looks EXACTLY like the shot above. The front tire edge sits out probaly 3/16 of an inch, 5 mm. But the RIM is probably perfectly to the edge of the fender. The rear is under, as close to the inside edge as you can possibly have, owing to camber.

I will post picts. I have a pict on here in another thread. Most are concerned about the protrusion of the outter edge. Its a subtle point and according to personal taste. I will say I believe if I went with 33 ET on my fronts, it would be exactly what you might expect from a factory setup, the front tucked under enough to slam it down. But that would be a staggered setup and no tire rotation possible.

SO- I am curious how well an additional quarter inch of wheel (6 mm) with 2 mm of additional outbound to the centerline, they 'have' to stick out farther for the 10 inch wheel. I just found it curious how they spec an additional 1/3 of an inch outbound on the wheel as a standard fitment. ? Is my math wrong?

Yeah the 10 x 20 ET 20 Is indeed for the ZL1. So be careful there may be fender kits on some of these.

BTW I love the look and feel, I get double takes from passers by, the wheels are simply gorgeous.

The nitto 555 -G2 are less grippy than I expected but thay are only 100 mile on them. needs a couple hundred miles to break in. If you go super wide and super tacky, you will probably get tramlining where the car starts veering on road ruts. Not to mention the noise increase.

I would say - look at as many factory setups as you can and look at what they use.

This is very helpful.

I'm also looking heavily into wheels, moving to make my purchase (plus performance tires) next spring.

Does anybody know the weight of the stock 18" wheel? I wanted to go to a 19" wheel, but I dont want it to come at the expense of weight. Looking for a weight savings in wheel + tire while getting bigger. Might be expensive...but I want that damn 4.7s...

Some 19" wheels are actually lighter then the 18's it's all about the style and composition of the wheel. My 19" Winter wheels are actually lighter then my 17s I use for drag racing.

I am looking at exactly this wheel. And they are on sale right now! What size tires are you running?

19*9.5 22mm is the size I am looking for. Tirerack has some Flow One Race Spec wheels in that size for a similar price. I havent seen any others in that size. I wish there were RPF1 in that size.

The Stock LS 18 was 51 lbs and these are 55 lbs for a gain of 8 pounds on each axle. Also take a closer look at your strut spring perch, I saw it was pretty tight already so going in can be risky.

SORRY ABOUT THE CRAPPY PICTS THEY DONT DO THE JUSTICE. I lost my good phone so its a spare camera.

I am glad the sun angle helps with shading the over cuts of the fender for some more depth perception.
