How have these been for you? I want to buy these but I want to make sure it's worth it and these are quality pieces as well.

Thanks

I have had literally zero problems with them. They make a huge difference in light output from the stock. The backup camera is actually useful at night now with them.

These still working well for you? Will have to get a set for my 2020... Unreal GM puts LED's in almost everything but they cheep out on the reverse, license and trunk lights.

Did you end up trying those bulbs? Is there anything similar? $36 seems a little steep for two little bulbs..

I installed the iJDM Toy bulbs and they work great. They have resistors pre-installed on the bulb harness. This is a great option if you don't want to install and fiddle with your own resistors.

Just got a pair of these from iJDMToy after picking up a set of (expensive) bulbs from Diode Dynamics. For 1/4 to a 1/5 of the price of the DD bulbs if you figure in the resistors, the iJDMToy bulbs are a bargain and are outstanding. Definitely a plug and play solution and highly recommended.

Does anyone know the resistor specs on the gen5diy single resistor? I believe the resistor on mine is bad cause the backup cam just stays on now. Haven’t been a problem since until recently.

EDIT: I found it, 50w 3 ohms

Although it's an old thread, thank you OP for the detailed write up. As things have evolved a bit, would a led bulb that includes a load resistor be used instead? See below for an example:

Yes and no. Some people have made their own very cheap by just buying resistors and attaching them to LED bulbs, but not every resistor works with the Camaro. Even some LEDs with resistors built in (like what you linked here) for the purpose of being backwards compatible with vehicles like this don't always work. The Camaro is picky for some reason.

I used regular halogens on my last Camaro that were just bright white. They LOOKED like LEDs and im upset they aren't made anymore. Im mad that I forgot to switch them out for the stock bulbs before trading it in so I could use the good ones on my new Camaro. Im sure there are similar options but I have been too lazy to find them lol.

My wife's SUV gets these white(-ish), very high output halogens from me again and again, because what it came with from the factory is utter junk, near zero visibility driving our TN mountain roads in the dark. These bulbs are great, but their life expectancy is catastrophic, basically the brighter and "bluer" they are, the sooner they die. No free lunch, I guess (but I already have potential LED replacements lined up for the next bulb swap).

The above link 404s but they still make those. I've been using these for a couple of months now without any issues.

Thanks for posting the above link. Where did you mount the resistors? Can you post a photo?

Sure thing, I used double-sided thermal conductive tape and mounted it to the metal. This image was taken before cable routing so disregard the mess.
