Anyone else on TPW roller coaster?

Curious to know if anyone else's TPW jumped around foward and backwards?

If you see my signature, I have been pushed back (like everyone else) but then status even went backwards, then suddenly TPW back to April @3400...

(I even went as far as 5/9 at one point, but didn't bother updating since I went back to 5/2 soon after)

Yessir lol. Mine isn’t too bad I don’t think but I’m just ready for it to be done. I’m patient though. You can see the process in my signature.

Yeah I am in no rush as well. I guess GM likes to play with our emotions

Same here. Went from 04/25 to 05/09 to 05/30 back to 05/23.

Adding insult to injury.....my original order, which I dropped because it was at 1100 from Dec to Mar (that dealer must have kept it in the system), got picked up 2 weeks after my new order and now has a TPW of 05/09 which is 2 weeks earlier than my new order.....and my current order had a TPW of 04/25 before the original order even went to 2000.

Aw man. Well at least your new order has a TPW so you'll have your car eventually!

Wow, that is nuts!! But I have this idea that, for some reason, they decided to pick up a lot of orders that had been at 1100 for a long time. I noticed that mine (2SS Conv) got picked up the same week as a bunch of others on here. Kinda weird. I wonder if they decided to put these cars into the build order ahead of cars that hadn't been at 1100 as long? Because why do I have a 5/9 build and many others on here have TPWs after mine and mine just got picked up. But the ordering system is a convoluted enigma on the order of chaos never before seen by a bunch of fun loving enthusiasts. But I can't wait to get my SS!!

Wow, yours moved fast!

Your theory may be correct. I also wonder if the dealer with my original order changed the configuration after I called and told them I didn't want it, since it was still at 1100 at the time. And maybe however they re-configured it made it get an earlier TPW.

Then again, I might just have bad luck. My 05/23 TPW is the furthest out of any one I've see that hit 2000 near the same time as me. Examples:
2000 Same week, TPW 04/18
2000 Same week, TPW 05/09
2000 Same week, Built 04/22
2000 1 week after, TPW 04/11 (but not built yet)
2000 2 weeks after, TPW 05/09 (2 of these...my original order + another one)

3000 Same week, TPW 04/11
3000 Same week, TPW 04/18 (3 of these)
3000 Same week, TPW 05/09 (2 of these)

I keep hoping when I check with Joe each week that my TPW will move in...but so far it only did that once in the week following the shutdown.

You guys do realize that in high volume manufacturing you schedule builds that are the same for the same timeframe to limit the amount of tooling changes. They’re not going to build a red 2ss convertible and a grey 1lt at the same time.

Sure, it could be that.....or a dozen other reasons. None of us knows for sure. We understand that it isn't a result of being disorganized or haphazard. And we understand that an unexpected week long shutdown threw things for a loop too.

Still, it seems funny and odd looking in from the outside...and makes for a good reason to chat with other people in the same boat and share our common experience.

Yeah I think the why of it all is irrelevant. I don't think anyone has the true answer to that anyway. Just wanted to see if anyone else was going through crazy TPW changes lol

So what do you guys think, since my TPW is all the way back to 4/18, will my car start to be built soon? OR has it already started production and can expect a 3800 status any day now?

The factory doesn't build in batches, they build to order, meaning different spec trims at the same time, they even build Camaros and Cadillacs together. Parts associated with each order are collected onto a rack and travel with the associated vehicle.

There was a BBC video a few years ago that had the plant manager explain the process.

Well that doesn’t sound very efficient. Lol
