ZL1 Center Stripe

On the fence with adding the factory center stripe to my ZL1. I’d like to see some pictures of those that have the stripe. Also if anyone has the part number of the stripe.

One thing they don't do on the 6th gen like they did do on the 5th is wrap the stripe over the edges. This drove me crazy on my last car and I've always liked the stripe.

Some colors are obviously better than others.

Thanks for the pics. Does the stripe stop under the spoiler on the decklid?

Having a Summit White ZL1 liked pictured, I have to agree with Mlee. I don't like where they stop and start the stripes, they need to wrap over the edge.

+1. It looks half-assed in its current state.

Personally I think you should only do the stripe if you leave the hood heat extractor painted black to match the stripe.

I also did some accent stripes out of 3M vinyl and XPEL wrapped the entire car. I heard the stock vinyl stripe as well as the hood heat extractor is easy to scratch. If you're obsessed with keeping your car clean like I am then it's worth the price.

And on my 5th Gen it wrapped all the way over the edges. It literally drove me nuts they didn't do this on the 6th gen.

Sidenote: very very few black stripes on the 5th gen Z before they changed to gray. The guy who bought my car took it off.

Your striping looks fantastic! You have helped me make up my mind, on how I want mine to look. Is it possible to pm me some closeup pics? Especially on the spoiler.
Thanks
Dave

Looks great..

My spoiler stripe looks like a little kid cut it freehand on the underside of the spoiler, as well as a wrinkle in it where it was folded over. Also my stripes have a ton of water spots on them from when it sat out on the dealers lot.

Had I been paying more attention when I picked the car up I would have pointed this out tot he dealer but I was a bit overwhelmed at the time and didn't notice until I washed and waxed the car myself.

Sure. I'll try to take some tomorrow at some point. What specifically are you interested in seeing?

Also, just as a side note, the whole scheme looks much better with the ZL1 badges on the hood. They add that bit of red to the hood that is missing in most of the pictures. I tried to continue the stripe on the hood itself near the bottom and it just didn't work. There's a company that sells a pre-cut vinyl piece but it's garbage, don't go for it. Coulnd't figure out how to continue the red accent stripping on the hood either. Nothing looked right so just ended up with the roof, trunk lid and spoiler.

Would like to see how the striping ends on the trunk lid and spoiler. Does the striping go completely around the spoiler? My stripes would be wide/thin red, thin black and white. In the same style as yours. Do you have an opinion?
Thanks in advance for doing this for me, very appreciated.
Again, your car looks great.

See below for pics. Sorry for the delay

The striping doesn't go completely around the spoiler.

I got the vinyl striping here: http://www.vinylstriping.com/1_inch_vinyl_striping.php

It's 1" wide, "premium" type, Dark Red (1013).

The red matches the red in the ZL1 badge as well as the interior, or at least it's pretty close. You only need 1 roll. It's way more than enough. Like I said previously though, I would highly consider having wherever the vinyl is XPEL wrapped. This makes all the vinyl have the same reflective properties as well as protects it from pulling up or getting swirl marks.

Also, don't get anything from here: http://www.ridergraphix.com/2016_Camaro.html . Absolute garbage.
