Thankfully they recognized the issue was there but that's after what someone can only assume was a few spirited runs. I know in my experience the issue doesn't come up during spirited driving, so if they were doing so, it would never happen.
i have onstar and they seemed to be accelerating hard, and the issue is only noticeable under light throttle and in drive mode. will be taking to a new dealership.

Proof!

I have a fairly good dash cam that picks it up... and I showed this video to the service manager at my dealership, they did the flush on the tranny right away.
So far its been ok, but we'll see .. as time will tell.

I'll attach the the link here... just skip to 42, 48 and 56 seconds area to hear it.
ps: listen to it with good bass speakers... it will shake the pictures off your walls!

Haven't noticed the shudder since getting the fix. But the issue with it not switching to V4 mode is still there, and the tach bounces all over the place.

Taking mine back to dealer next week. Had flush and TC replaced, shudder back as it was before repairs. Don't know what the next fix will be? But it pisses me off that I can not enjoy driving this car.

I've got this same issue as well as what sounds like a rock in my exhaust pipes intermittently. And as an added bonus, I think a steering sensor is malfunctioning too, as I sometimes don't get the grid lines on my back up camera and when I do, they're turning half a steer left when the wheels are straight.

So disappointed that this car that I love has so many problems. :\

Is this the issue with your exhaust.

so im wondering if I have this too.
at 80MPH, when v4 kicks in and I go to lightly accelerate the car almost seems like it rumbles.

also on downshifts the car shifts into first hard or off timing causing it to jump forward.

I picked up my '17 2SS a few months ago with about 14K miles on it used. Its been running great for about 2K miles. This week I've suddenly developed the "Shutter" issue. I went back and looked in my paperwork as I asked for the service history when I purchased the vehicle. I looked it over, but didnt really notice anything other than a transmission flush, although the details mentioned the "shutter", but I didnt read too much in the details as it drove fine up until this week. The service history said the shutter fix was done at 13.6K miles, which must have been around the time it was traded in, lucky me.

Do you think the dealer is just going to flush it again? If the fix has been performed already, next step would be the TC replacement?

Yes, next step is the TC replacement. I had the flush, then the TC replacement and the shudder came back. They flushed it again and was going to replace TC but GM told them to stop and do a TCM reprogramming. Not sure what that all does, but I have noticed tranny stays in v6 majority of time and when in v4 it shifts out of it pretty quickly. also rpm's have been very steady unlike before when it was all over the place. So hopefully mine has been fixed, should know in next 500 miles or so.

I have a 17 A8 V6, with about 700 miles on it. I don't have the hard shifting or shutter, but the RPM'S do go up and down at highway speeds. Thoughts??

7rank, and Kise, that's what I notice.
intermittent throb thru the steering wheel, and some through the seat of the pants.
Not constant, but usually during light throttle, and particularly in V4 mode, 1100-1500rpm.

Sound about right?

Do they do the flush for free?

Now that the thread has been bumped, let me put some info down just for the record and new joiners: this thread is from 2018, and the correct trans fluid for the A8 eventually came out in Jan 2019, with wider availability around March 2019. The flush procedure that actually fixes the shudder if caught early enough is described in TSB 18-NA-355.

I suspect that would be very rare, since 99% of people running an aftermarket TC also have their TCM tuned. I’m still on the original TC since I tuned my TCM very early on. Putting some decent power through it too I might add.
