If this was for me, you've got it all wrong. I did not remove the supercharger recently because I did not think it worked. It clearly did. I removed it due to the weak stock pistons in my stock motor, and I will be running it for longer than a 1/4 mile, and I don't have a tow rig. As far as comparing to your Magnuson, mine was actually pretty close if you look at it honestly. Your Magnuson at 544rwhp, which seems to be a basic setting, ran 10.85 in 60 degree weather. My Paxton base kit ran 10.92 in low 80s weather. Yes your short time was better, no big surprise to me, as we both had stock converters and the PD makes boost early. Must also point out that I paid less for my kit and the parts for it than you did for yours. The difference in price could have paid for a converter for my car, yes that would mean more work though. That darn no free lunch thing again.

No lunch for free is for sure. These pistons can take a lot for sure but eventually the rings give up with too much boost and maybe too much detonation. I think the quickest mine went on 93 octane was low 10.70's, then I converted to Vp Ms109 which allowed more timing and of course that's when things start to change, smaller pulley more boost then on to meth/water smaller pulley and more boost. I think yours did pretyy good and didn't actually know you got in the 10's with a Paxton, they've been around along time. I hope you put it back on and make some more strides into the mid 10's. For some reason I thought you had been running a Whipple.

***** Was in the revisions mentioned above but now has been deleted language for 2018.
INTRODUCTION, NHRA DRAGS: STREET LEGAL STYLE PRESENTED BY AAA (5th Paragraph) (Page xiv) (9/18/2018) (9/19/2018) Additionally, requirements and specifications for Street Legal are the same as those for the Summit Racing Series with the following exception. Unaltered 2008 OEM model-year and newer production cars running slower than 9.99 (*6.39) and 135 mph do not have to meet the requirements and specifications for the Summit Racing Series except for the following: Convertibles and T-tops must meet Summit Racing Series roll-bar and roll-cage requirements. Vehicle must pass all highway safety requirements in the state in which the vehicle is registered. Unaltered OEM installed anti-lock brakes, airbag functions, as well as all other OEM safety related systems must be functioning as per manufacturer’s specifications. Note: Tires used may be other than OEM, but they must be DOTapproved. ******Other changes/modifications to items such as but not limited to intake air systems, exhaust systems, computer programming from the factory OEM equipment are considered “alterations.” As such, 2008 and newer vehicles with changes/modifications must meet the Summit Racing Series rules. All drivers must meet the Summit Racing Series helmet and protective-clothing requirements for the e.t. and mph of vehicle. The three key points here are the OEM anti-lock brakes, removing the factory seats for a lightweight seat....which triggers the airbag light, and DOT tires. Non compliance in any of those areas will put you back to the 11.49 tech limit. The overlooked word in the rules paragraph is Unaltered. Non factory power adders are also part of this clause but I will defer to someone else for the exact specifics...ie a certified Roush installed unit on the GT.

The big difference this year is the removed the “unaltered” requirement. Before if you had mods you didn’t qualify for the 10.0 exception.

I'm good down to 9.99 but I'll be running a little quicker then that this year. I may have to add to my roll bar.

Prior to 2008: you needed a roll bar to go 10.00-11.49, and you need a cage to go 9.99 or faster (I'm assuming you know the difference between a roll bar and roll cage) After 2008 (the rules you posted): you can go as fast as 10.00, without a roll bar, if your car was bone stock and is a model 2007 or newer. You could not modify your vehicle in any shape or form, or else (this is indicated by the word "UNALTERED"). Cage stays the same at 9.99/135 After 2018(the one snowblind and I posted): you can go as fast as 10.00, without a roll bar, in a modified car. They removed the word "UNALTERED". So you can now have headers, intake, etc, and still be good to 10.00 without a roll bar. Their trade off to this rule is that you have to remain on a DOT tire and all the factory safety systems have to be fully functional. 9.99/135 for a cage stays the same. If you still cant see the difference between the 2013 rules that you posted and the current rules, than I give up. I'm going to have to draw pictures or something
