2019 Dash Cam Hardwiring question

has anyone hardwired a dash cam in a 2019 RS ?

where did you guys tap into a 12v?

Just got a dash cam and was wondering the same thing. I was thinking you could run it to the fuse box. I saw a separate power cord you could buy that plugged into the cars computer. That way it would be hidden and out if the way but hardwiring is probably the better option.

my dash cam requires 12v+....ign and ground..... i just ran mine to the bcm under the dash.... i install remote starts so i have access to all the wiring info.


12 Volts Red/Gray (30A) + BCM under driver dash, blue 27 pin plug, pin 4

Ground (chassis ground)



Starter Yellow (for starter kill only) + Underhood Fuse Box, black 40 pin plug (X3), pin 2

Ignition Violet/Black + BCM under driver dash, green 25 pin plug, pin 6

Accessory Violet/Yellow + BCM under driver dash, green 25 pin plug, pin 5

I haven't looked at my dash cam yet but it's sitting on my desk and car should be here next week. The ground will run to a grounded point on the car, that's fine.... And the 12v+ goes to where exactly?
