Stab the throttle to go into LC, and hope that a slight lurch doesn't break the beam.

I never tried it at the track, but that's how I envision it.

Any update?

So is there any update on this thread? I am curious as to what happened, and what worked best. I am sitting the track soon and I want to try and launch well from the start as compared to trial and error.

To get good at it, using launch control or not, seat time is your friend. Practice, practice, practice. Almost everyone sucks at first. But if you don't get discouraged and keep trying your patience will be rewarded.

It's in your owners manual.

Track mode, tap TC button twice to enter Competition Mode.

Car in first gear, clutch all the way in, and hold throttle all the way down. You'll notice the RPMs jump then cut back to around 4k and hold steady despite your foot all the way down on accelerator. This is how you know you've engaged it.

How are you guys getting the PDR to not start as soon as you hit the gas. I tried the 1/4 recorder today and even with the brake smashed all the way to the floor as soon as I hit the gas the recorder would start even though the car was sitting still. It did it multiple times no matter how I tried to stall the car up before launch.

Do you just dump the clutch or ease it out?

Start the program/hit select after the car has surged forward and rpms have stabilized. Then proceed when ready.

I had the same problem. Easy fix.

I thought I tried that but could have flubbed it with getting the computer tracking, watching the lights and all the other awesome stuff that happens at the starting line. I will give it a shot on the street to see if I can make it work. Thanks.

With launch control I consistently cut 1.8x 60ft times...I couldn't get the finesse down and blew the tires off everytime I tried without it.

With my 2ss auto I have been trying to master the launch control feature. I am in sport mode, two quick presses of traction control to get in competion mode with two orange lights on the dash, smash the brake and nail the gas, but still get lunging and tire spin. I thought this was for the dragstrip kind of like a tranny brake. Am I doing something wrong here? Also After reading this thread I am going to try to find the 0 to 60 timer and does this work with launch control as I read that the timer starts with gas pedal input not motion from the vehicle?
Thanks for the info

Just had mine out using launch control. Sounds like you are doing it right. Might trying to press the brake down harder. I does lunge a little right after you slam down on the gas. Then the rpms settle at around 2,000 and it holds in place. It is at this point that you push the sel button on the steering wheel to set the 0-60 timer. Once you release the brake, timer starts and away you go.
