NA Build

Whats up everyone, I have a '20 1SS and I want to go NA on this car. FBO. Where's the best place to get it all done? I used to be a tech, but man I dont have the time to do it all myself. I dont drive the car everyday so I can have it at a shop where it doesn't have to be rushed cause its my daily. Has to be a reputable shop and I'm in Austin Tx so has to be close by not too far. Anyone know if its worth taking it to like Hennessey and letting them do it? Curious what it would cost through them. Heads, cam, intake, headers, tune etc. I'm not looking to make 1000 hp. I dont race the car. Its just a weekend car, but I want it cammed for sure. Thanks

For some of the bigger names, check out Late Model Racecraft (LMR) and Texas speed. And I am sure there will be other suggestions as well.

Do some searching on Hennessey and see what you find.......

I see you are in Texas but Vengeance Racing in Atlanta is real good. I know several people that used them and they are very satisfied with the work Vengeance did to their cars.

Hey neighbor,
I'm doing the work myself and going with a remote tune. So I can name a few places that i learned of, but obviously can't honestly speak to their quality.
Aikman Performance in Cedar Park. Lots of LS, but not sure on gen v lt1
Biddle Motorsports. Appears they did a lot of LS work, not sure on the gen V LT1's.
Pro Modular performance near the Domain. Heard they do a lot of mustangs, again not sure on LT1
J Rods (and Matt S) in Houston. Not local but seen a lot of folks rave about them.

Good luck, and enjoy!

Oh, i did not reference Hennessey or TSP. While Hennesseys work may be good, and they can offer a warranty, i found their prices to be richer than i wanted to pay. And they are just outside Houston. TSP Georgetown told me they do not do installs. They would build you an engine, mod your heads, sell you parts, but not install. Or so they told me when i inquired some time back.

Pray might be an option worth checking for your build. I've seen him do some impressive stuff with cam and ported everything. If I was going naturally aspirated like you, I would definitely inquire with pray.

To give you an idea on my car:

Stage 2 TSP cam
TSP headers
MSD intake manifold ported
rotofab cai
95mm tb

Was in the neighborhood of 6.5k and made 527 on the dyno.

However Im in Nj so I cannot give you an idea of where to have the work done.

They appear to be a crooked company. They are shunned in the high performance corvette community. Google it and you will see everything you need to know to make a wise decision
