Bad news this morning
Engine light and onstar notification
So I'll look everything over and make sure it right
If I can't find anything incorrect
I'll have to put the stock intake back in

Ok
my fault
I was tired when I was working last night
Walked through the install again
And the air sensor was backwards
I corrected it
Engine light is still on
But hopefully it just needs to be reset
I'll take it in this week

I've had this intake on a few weeks now, and thought I'd share an update.

Still have no check engine light, and I've noticed the car now does that exhaust-blip thing when shifting at WOT from 3rd to 4th. It's my favorite noise and I used to only get it in 1-2 and 2-3 shifts on my a8. Very satisfied with the k&n (I'm sure I'd be just as happy with any cai that would do this)

Only other "performance" mod is axle-back MBRP

So ive got the opportunity to buy the k&n intake kit through work for 30% off which with our sales tax would come out to about $230 but am worried about the whole warranty thing

Geez I think even I would buy one for that price and I tend to shy away from these! Warranty is hit or miss, if you have a good dealer they aren't going to care about an intake. If you have a dealer that will do anything and everything to get out of doing warranty work then yes you could have a problem.

Just remember though, there is a law on the books that says they must PROVE the aftermarket part caused the issue they are denying a claim on. So they couldn't deny a claim on your seat or your suspension because you installed an intake. Now if your MAF goes bad, they could technically decline you on the account of the intake. It'd be a stretch but this is where having a good dealer comes into play.

I installed mine today, it's got a nice whine to it when sucking in air. You lose a lot of sound in the cabin with the sound tube delete though. I have it paired with a ported throttle body, I can definitely tell a difference in power and acceleration, very noticeable increase, very easy install, this was my first ever time with a cold air intake and I did it in about 45 minutes, if I did it again I could do it in 10-15 minutes from stock to cold air no problems. Very happy with the purchase, no CEL so far...but only about 30 miles put on it so far....again nice performance increase, no dyno numbers, just from my feeling.

I installed mine a couple of days ago and I agree with almost all of what's been said so far. Seems quieter and not a lot of power gain but it sure looks good. First thing I did was remove the company logo from the chrome tube. If they want me to advertise their product, then pay me. Looks better without it anyway.

Hey guys who have it already installed, is there any concern with the fact that it isn't in its own housing like the CAI cai one from 5th gen? Any worries that lack of lid will allow it to draw warm air from inside engine bay?
