exactly... How in the heck can so many people afford a $65,000 truck. I mean a truck? It damn truck cost more then a corvette.

When I started driving you could get a PowerStroke 1 Ton for $19,000 That truck starts at $50,000 in only 20 years. Inflation and wages have not gone up near that.

Not that I disagree with your statement, but part of that cost also includes the updated content. Trucks are not just trucks anymore. The major offerings contain the same or more content in terms of features and luxuries than their premium sedans do.

Also, the listed MSRP is the full size trucks are ridiculous, which is done on purpose so that they can yank 8 - 10 thousand off the price and make the deals seem incredible. Look at the Colorado vs. Silverado. MSRP to MSRP comparing apples to apples, the Silverado costs around 8 grand more when you equip both with a V6, 4x4, crew cab, in LT trim. Do you really think its cost 8 grand more to build the Silverado? No way.

This is not a new Vette.

Look at the angles, this is a new Caddy to go along with their return to endurance racing prototype class.

While that's always a possibility, the fact that it basically has a C7 cabin pushed forward of the engine is disputing that.

Also, all those angles you're seeing? Just camo.

But so far Cadillac will only be racing in the USA (IMSA only, nothing about a LeMans appearance). A mid-engined Corvette would race in the USA and on international tracks. If the rumored factory backed Corvette entry to the WEC is true that is...

I disagree. It's a Corvette cabin and tail lights. Corvette also has a mid engine prototype race car.

Actually no they don't . GM went with the Caddy's for the DPI's this time. Corvette is racing in the GT class only. They will be racing in Lemans but in the GT class. WEC isn't allowing the DPI's in the proto class this year. Remains to be seen if the WEC will ever allow the DPI's .

GM needs the Midengine Corvette to compete with the Ford GT in the GT classes in IMSA and WEC.

Angles don't suggest Cadillac at all. This thing screams Corvette all the way.

Hope i'm being fooled by the camo. The overall shape is underwhelming.

I wouldn't say they need the mid-engined car to compete with Ford. The #3 Corvette stayed within sight of the #66 Ford GT for most of this past weekends Rolex 24 at Daytona, and the #3 finished 5 second down to the #66. GTLM is an incredibly tough field to race in with 7 cars finishing within 8 second of each other after 24 hours.

All of the cars were nicely matched if you leave out the DPi's who kinda ran away with the show for a bit.
