SCCA HPDE Pre inspection sheet.

Hi, I have an HPDE coming up. Do I need to go to a shop to tick the shop inspection section or can I do this inspection myself if I am handy. I have fairly new car and its stock. 2018 ZL1 with 4.5k miles

Already running Dot 4 fluid and using the new Mobil 1 Dexos 2 0-40 ESP.

Any help would be appreciated.

You just tech yourself. No one checks the car.

Have your service shop/dealer check over your car while you're having the alignment set to track specs while it's on the rack and you can do the check sheet yourself if you don't have it during the service dept visit and If you're handy, yes you can just do it your self and save some coins.

Before the event.
1. Jack up the car, all four wheels off.
2. On jack stands, grab each tire and check for any ball joint play.
3. Remove wheels.
4. Inspect brake rotors, pads, brake lines, sway bar bolts, suspension bolts.
5. Replace pads if more than 50% worn (4.5mm)
6. Put the wheels back on, torque lugs to 140 ft-lbs.
7. Remove the floor mats and anything else loose in the car.

Under the hood:
1. Inspect the belts (I've had one fail)
2. Check brake fluid level
3. Check oil level
4. Make sure coolant in the top and bottom reservoir are good.

5. Remove the underhood water deflector (3 bolts, 10 mm)

Two other items... I run my brake fluid level just below the MAX line so there is room to expand, as it will expand through the event. I literally strike a line below the M A X as my reference. Also, make sure you re-check your TQ on the wheels but NOT when they are warm/hot.
