Question Enabling Remote/Automatic Window and Sunroof Closing on a 2020

Wondering if anyone has been able to enable through any means the ability to remotely roll up the windows and/or close the sunroof using the factory fob?

Or if not with the fob itself, possibly on locking of the doors through any means?

I found some older threads that discussed this but no clear answers and with 2019+ vehicles things might be different. The threads seemed to indicate this might be a feature on European cars, which gave me some hope. Plus one pointed me to White Automotive possibly being able to do some custom programming to achieve this. However after contacting them was told not possible.

So asking here if anyone has been able to get anything like this working on a US car?

Rooster,

Great question and, if I've seen it asked before, I believe the gang here will tell you it cannot be done via any if the car's built-in commands. I further believe that if White Automotive says it cannot be done at all, then the same gang will say that that's all she wrote.

Now, *I* would love to take it a step further and be able to raise my convertible top remotely, but no way. And it's funny, to hear that it's about "safety" and "liability", but I KNOW that two BMW's I owned could close everything remotely; maybe they spent the $ on a sensing mechanism that would reverse the window if it encountered resistance, i.e., someone's body part in the way? Who knows. But if you DO manage to find some sort of solution, I'm sure the folks here would be keenly interested...

Camaros made for the EU have this feature, along with locking fuel doors that GM "helpfully" removed from US trims. They left the ability to roll down all windows from the fob, that still works with our cars, but they blocked the counterpart (roll up) command.

I'm almost sure this and other features such as one-touch seat memory recall would be trivial to implement if we had full access to the source code of GM's module software, these are probably behind some kind of feature switch or maybe a conditional compiler directive. However, if Chris White says it can't be done today, it's probably not doable today at all via simple add-on changes, module swapping or reengineering.
