How many of you knew the ZL1 ran faster tines in TOUR MODE

I've heard this from a friend who TUNER advised the A10s in the ZL1 WERE faster in tour mode, I never believed him. His times at the track are 100^faster than all the other cars that were modded more than his etc. Well after today I tried it and it REALLY seems it's true. Just putting it out there not trying start a whole beef over it lol. But try it ND see for yourself if you already haven't

Suspension is softer in tour mode which makes the launches better typically. Track mode also opens the throttle more slowly comparatively (to allow control on the track in corners). Not surprised.

The A8's are the same way. I used dragy last fall back to back in all 3 modes and Track was -2mph, Sport -1mph less trap speed then Touring. I started with Track so Touring passes you could say were ran with hotter temps. I do find Sport launches the easiest on the street and was able to get my best 0-60 in that mode. Touring is real easy to light the tires off once you get past the first 25% throttle. Definitely odd how GM chose to map the throttle for these cars in the different modes.

Well it did not work for me. After 100 or so runs my A10 ZL1 with 17" MT DRs and a Rotofab on the stock tune.

My best runs were with all nannies off and babying the launch a bit with a few 11.1s@129.

But Hmmmm. Could I have locked in the tour mode for just the suspension with all nannies off? With the stock ZL1 I could only run 11.3s mostly in warm weather.

yea you have to turn all nannies off in Touring mode because it won't let you use competitive mode in Touring.

Settings > Driving Mode > Suspension > Tour

(if it's not set to "Auto", it gets locked and no longer changes with the driving mode; same applies to steering and exhaust).

I find the touring/snow and even sport modes make the steering too light and it's just too easy to over-turn when you are entering/exiting, which then makes you lose traction and control. I can do it, but I really have to scale back my driving and it feels like I'm not able to really attack the course.

Hey Arpad, just out of curiousity, what is your best et and trap speed? I'm a road course guy, but I did run my car a few times at Camarofest. My best run was 11.1x / 132. I was on Goodyear supercar3's which, coupled with my M6 made for some downright embarrassing 60' times. Since you're my mechanical twin, except for the transmission, I'm curious how our 1/4 mile performance compare.

Sorry, I don't have recent timeslips, last time I was at the dragstrip was from back in NJ when the car had nothing but the supercharger, so no slips with the current setup.

Just as an FYI, the best I had was a 1.8 60-foot and a 11.6 ET @ 124 mph on street tires and basically unprepped track (in other words, spin city almost every time). I'm no drag racer for sure, but that didn't help either.
