Just another thought.
As someone who spent a lot of time trying to make that work, it's not easy, even for someone willing to strip an entire car for acoustical treatment and install a $500 pair of 6x9s back there. For one, even if you install the adapter on the top to align screw holes - one of the holes is blocked by the rear deck. And second, the metal itself prohibits direct mounting. One could fabricate a mount for underneath, that effort would likely suck as it won't be flat and has to conform to awkward undulations, and then sacrifice that height in the trunk.

I only had a vague recollection of this.
I was probably thinking of this thread by kingLT1:

Yep, mounting from the bottom is easy.

Some space is compromised, but not a big deal for most people.

I've gotta look at mounting my amp to the rear deck like that. Would save a little room over having it sitting on the floor.

By using the previously mentioned amp, could you replace the 2 ohm stocks with standard 4 ohm speakers (assuming you could mount them)?

In general the rear speakers are to be for rear fill and not really noticed.
I believe they are difficult to get to as well. There are You Tube videos on upgrading.

Some amps use the case as a large heatsink, rockford fosgate, for example. If you mount upside down, you have to do something about the heat.

I have done this in my previous car and I cut a hole in what would normally be the bottom plate of the amp and mounted a computer hard drive cooling fan to cool the unit. I think the HDD fans were designed for 5 V. There are typically 2 little fans on the unit, so wire them in series and pull 12V from the amp's switched power.

Would lc-4.800 work for this situation? To amplify all 4 rear speakers?
