ZL1 - Side Rockers ready to paint

What's a reasonable price to paint these these ZL1 Rocker panels? $100 each?

Top would be Hyper Blue to match, bottom gloss black (could maybe just spray clear coat on bottom?).

Photo is just for reference, the silver part would be "ready to paint" from GM Parts website.

I think you can order them in Hyper Blue straight from GM, I thought.

few years back it ran me 2 bills to get the rear spoiler for my genesis coupe shot in gloss white. about the same size as one of those and was painted off the car then installed by me. would think pricing would be similar.
most shops would have $30-50 in materials before even touching the parts.

Takes to my local GMParts in Dallas and they no longer offer them already painted ... getting an estimate today.

Has anyone tried these from “vicrez.com”?

They look pretty nice, but are they made for a ZL1 or a non-ZL1? The ZL1 fenders are different, so they might not fit right on a non-ZL1 car.

Ok, how do you modify them to fit on SS?

Those should be a direct fit to non-ZL1 (note the rivet-on bracket). It makes absolutely no sense to be a direct replacement to ZL1 cars as the entire rocker is part of the body and side skirt on those cars.

I purchased the ZL1 side skirts, had them painted and mounted them on my SS. If you search you’ll find some old threads on here where people did a step by step. The gist is take the last bolt of the fender, get a longer bolt and put some nylon washers to space the fender out to match the side skirt.

The fender isn’t different on the ZL1. It’s just aligned wider at the factory. Essentially that is what you’d be doing. And I did it. It came out great.

I am aware that the ZL1 side skirt is integrated with the rocker, and I agree that it makes no sense to be a ZL1 direct replacement. However, the Vicrez web site states "Direct OEM replacement", and the car pictured on their site is a ZL1. Just putting the question out there so that anyone reading this thread who plans to buy these side skirts (I'm considering them) isn't surprised when they receive them and they don't fit their non-ZL1 car.

According to multiple threads on this forum and GM parts sites, the ZL1 fenders are indeed different. They even have different part numbers.

If you bought OEM ZL1 rockers/side skirts, your experience may or may not be relevant to the Vicrez side skirts. It really depends on if they are intended for a non-ZL1 car.

Maybe the fenders are different part numbers. It’s all the same… space them out. You’ll get the desired result. Mine have been in for years.

As far as the Vicrez product, it looks like a poorly made website. The car pictured may be an actual ZL1 but I think they are showing that they can convert an SS to a ZL1 with their products in my opinion. Should all of you care enough, contact them and I’m sure I’m right. Basically, they have conversion products from regular trim to ZL1.

Lemme know.

It's a non-ZL1 car that has a bunch of their ZL1-Style parts on it.
https://www.vicrez.com/vicrez-full-b...rolet%20Camaro

I think their statement is attempting to indicate that the parts are of the exact same aesthetic-design as OE-style and can be directly installed onto a regular (non-ZL1) car. In other words, you could have 2 ZL1's next to each other, one would have the OEM ZL1 rocker panels and the other with non-ZL1 OEM rocker panel, but with the "Vicrez" ZL1-style rockers riveted on and you wouldn't know the difference unless you started looking close at the car. Like the Gen2 OE ground effects, there is a rivet-on bracket that goes on under the body piece. You simply could not attach that and the "Vicrez" rocker onto an OEM ZL1 rocker panel and if you just put that rocker over the OEM ZL1 rocker, for whatever reason, it probably wouldn't sit flush.

I purchased a set from Vicrez - and immediately returned them. Quality of plastic seems ok but they are too long by at least half an inch and arrived without installation hardware (which was supposed to be included), and the shipping box was “already used box”. Appeared to have been a return that was simply stocked and shipped out as new.

Ordered a set from Ikon - gloss black - we’ll see how they turn out.

P.S. would have ordered from ACS but gloss black has been out of stock everyone I checked.
